Part 22: Jack has basically relocated to Austin — Xbox and all — his mom is now living at my house, and he shows up to his deposition without an attorney and admits the girlfriend relationship is very real. At this point, it’s becoming pretty clear he’s building a new life.

And me? I’ve officially decided I’m getting my stuff back. by @itsbrittnaybtw_

Part 22: March 2026. 🚩

Turns out the “work trucks” were rental cars… and had been since November. Then there’s a wreck, my insurance gets involved, his attorney fires him, and we’re heading into a deposition.

Meanwhile, I’m scheduling a biopsy. by @itsbrittnaybtw_

Part 21 | Welcome to March 2026, where apparently everybody is quitting, disconnecting something, or hitting another vehicle.

At this point, the wage garnishment still isn’t happening the way it’s supposed to, so I finally call Jack’s employer myself and ask to speak to HR because I’m trying to figure out when support is actually going to start coming out of his paycheck.

Meanwhile, Jack casually informs me that our children have twin beds at his girlfriend’s house.

Twin. Beds.

So that was interesting information to receive considering we are only a couple months into me even knowing this woman exists.

Then the gas at our house gets disconnected, and Jack has to have it reconnected in his own name.

His attorney quits.

And somewhere in the middle of all of this, Jack rear-ends somebody while driving a rental truck.

Which is also when PI Brit starts putting another little piece together: all of those different trucks I kept seeing him drive?

Yeah.

They were rentals.

March was really just one long episode of, “Okay… what now?” by @itsbrittnaybtw_

Part 20 | End of February 2026: I know who the girlfriend is, Jack knows I know, and now everybody knows everybody exists.

I can only imagine what version of me she was getting… guesses are welcome.

Meanwhile, I still haven’t received support money, and Jack is now talking about moving to Austin to be with the girlfriend.

March should be fun. by @itsbrittnaybtw_

Part 19 | February 2026: one deposition, one girlfriend reveal, one accidental PI career… and one nervous system that finally said enough by @itsbrittnaybtw_

Part 18 | January 2026 was basically one giant game of “what now?”

I went back to my OB for my results thankfully, no STD, but my blood work showed a cancer-related variant, so the next step was scheduling a mammogram.

Meanwhile, Jack was now suggesting that he move to Austin, my kids had already spent a weekend there, and there was a car at my marital home that I did not recognize. Fun little legal detail: his attorney never requested exclusive use of the marital home in our temporary orders, so that was never actually awarded to him.

At the same time, we were in discovery, doing inventories, and I had decided I wanted a deposition. At this point, I wanted certain things Jack was saying put on the record. For me, it was less about arguing and more about documenting.

And because apparently January needed one more storyline, I was still dealing with the totaled car. Insurance had not finished paying it off yet, the credit union was continuing to report the missed payments, and my credit had dropped roughly 100 points while I was trying to get everything cleared up.

So by the end of January I had medical testing, legal discovery, a wrecked car destroying my credit, talk of Austin, my babies staying in Austin… and a mystery car at my house.

And I still didn’t know who was driving it.

February is where that starts getting interesting. by @itsbrittnaybtw_

Part 17.

We are officially in January of 2026, and apparently my life has decided we’re not easing into the new year.

A few days after my mom brings me the Mazda from Florida, I’m driving the Volkswagen because my plan is to take it to CarMax and figure out what I can sell it for.

Except…I never make it to CarMax.

I total the Volkswagen.

So now my mom has literally brought me a car because I need transportation, and just a few days later, the other car is gone.

Meanwhile, every single time I see Jack, this man is driving a different Dodge truck.

Not one Dodge truck.

Not two.

I’m pretty sure by this point I have seen THREE different Dodge trucks.

And I’m over here like…where are these vehicles coming from?

But something else has changed too.

Jack’s energy has completely shifted off of me.

He’s not as focused on what I’m doing, where I’m going, or trying to get my attention anymore.

And at the time, I’m starting to think…

Interesting.

Because usually when someone suddenly stops giving you all of their attention…sometimes it’s because that attention has found somewhere else to go.

And then he starts doing something else that really gets my attention.

He starts bringing the kids back early from his parenting time.

And that was strange to me because we had just spent months fighting over time with these kids.

Now suddenly…you don’t want all of it?

So January 2026 has me with a totaled Volkswagen, Day One’s Mazda, Jack’s rotating Dodge dealership…

…and a whole lot of questions.

And trust me.

We’re about to start getting some answers. by @itsbrittnaybtw_

Pt. 16
Okay, so now you know how I was even able to keep working.

Let me tell you why I was working every chance I got.

When I left Jack, he was working two jobs. By November, he had told me that he had left or quit those jobs and was starting another oil-and-gas job.

Not my problem.

Except January 1st comes, and that’s when he is supposed to start paying child support.

And January 1st comes and goes.

No child support.

So now I have to start making some really ugly grown-up decisions.

Because there are certain bills I absolutely cannot play with.

Number one: rent.

My landlord had been incredibly gracious to me, but that was one bridge I was never going to burn. My babies were going to have a home, and my rent was getting paid.

Then I have their school and childcare, because if I can’t work, none of the rest of this works either.

And then there’s my Volkswagen.

Car payment. Insurance. Gas. All of it.

And I’m looking at my bank account thinking, “I cannot do all of these things.”

Something has to go.

And it wasn’t going to be my house.

It wasn’t going to be my kids’ school.

So it had to be the car.

I actually called my credit union and told them exactly what was happening. I said, “I’m going through a divorce. I’m not receiving the support I expected to receive, and I am having to make some very difficult financial decisions. What do I do with this car?”

The man I spoke with was incredibly kind. He suggested that before I did anything else, I take it to CarMax and see what they would offer me for it.

And thankfully, months earlier, one of my best friends had already planted a little seed in my head.

She had an extra Mazda.

She’d basically told me, “If you ever need it, we can figure something out.”

At the time I thought, surely I’m not actually going to need to do that.

I was absolutely going to need to do that.

So now my mom is coming to Texas…

with the Mazda.

And Mama is about to go from the Volkswagen mom-mobile…

to a Mazda 3.

Because welcome to 2026.

We are cutting expenses, swallowing pride, and figuring it the hell out. by @itsbrittnaybtw_

Part 15 | Our sitter had been with us since my daughter was about four months old. My daughter had just turned two, so this wasn’t just some random babysitter I found after I left my husband. She already knew my babies. They loved her. We trusted her.

And before I even left Jack, while I was still quietly preparing, I actually called her mom.

She was only 17, and I didn’t feel like it was appropriate for me to sit down with somebody else’s minor child and say, “Hey, I’m leaving my husband, things are about to get messy, and I’m probably going to need you a whole lot more,” without her parents knowing what was going on.

So her family knew.

And thank GOD they did.

Because once I left, I could not afford to pay her what we had normally paid her. Sometimes I paid her what I could. Sometimes I couldn’t pay her right away. And this sweet girl and honestly her whole family just showed up for us.

My mom was helping me. Texas Sister was basically helping me every single day. I had people surrounding me.

But I still had to physically go to work.

And during January, Jack was very much single-single. He knew I wasn’t coming back. He was moving on with his life.

And there were multiple times when the kids were supposed to be with him and I would suddenly get a text like, “Can you come get them?”

Except I’m working.

So I would call my sitter, and she would go get my babies.

When I tell you I don’t know how I would’ve survived those first few months without her, I genuinely don’t know.

There are people who show up in your life and don’t even realize that what they’re doing is helping keep your entire world standing. by @itsbrittnaybtw_

Post 30 | By the end of the year, Jack had acknowledged lying about the Purple Heart, his University of Texas degree, and his Ranger service.

I also think there may still be a little confusion around the financial situation at this point, so I want to clear that up with as much context as I can.

During August, September, and October, Jack was employed by two separate companies at the same time and was receiving two separate paychecks. Each position paid well, well, well over $100,000 annually. I’m not going to share the exact numbers, but I do think that context matters.

Meanwhile, I was still working and flying full-time, receiving my own paycheck, and continuing to help pay our household bills. But by the time I needed to retain an attorney, I was financially strapped and simply did not have another way to come up with that amount of money.

So when I paid my attorney, I used OUR money from OUR joint account.

Not his money. Not money I secretly took from him. Our marital funds.

I hope that clears up some of the confusion around that part of the story. I know there are a lot of moving pieces here, and I genuinely appreciate y’all following along and asking questions.

We end 2025 with temporary orders in place, the kids and me living separately from Jack, and a whole new chapter waiting for us in January.

2026 has a LOT to say. 🫠 by @itsbrittnaybtw_

November 2025. I had already left the marriage, and Jack was trying very hard to win me back.

So naturally, he started bringing me gifts at church: a monogrammed Bible, a book called Pray for Him, and a card telling me the Lord was going to restore our marriage.

Take a bow, sir. Truly. by @itsbrittnaybtw_
