Voting is a right and I will exercise it no matter what. Too many fought for the rights of women and non-white men to vote for me to sit at home. If voting wasn’t important there wouldn’t be so much controversy surrounding who can vote. by @itsdannie_

My Disney Besties and I got to link up last weekend and I’m still on a high. Who would’ve thought that having a meal together during the Wild Africa Trek would turn into a friendship? We had a wild ride like we were with Mr. Toad and then a magical day at MK with my nephew, the boss man. I’m so glad that I met you two and thank you for welcoming me into your lives. Looking forward to more magic and core memories. by @itsdannie_

Today I attended the unveiling of the historical marker commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Upsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc (my home chapter) and the 50th anniversary of the Kappa Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. seated at Edward Waters University and Jacksonville University. ΥΛ brought the light of Alpha to The Sunshine State in 1925, extending the reach of the fraternity to Jacksonville, FL and beyond as the years went on. 50 years later ΚΥ was chartered on the campus of Florida’s oldest HBCU, becoming the first college chapter in Jacksonville. It’s a blessing and a privilege to be a part of this rich legacy and to be able to hear the stories from the voices of those who were there. by @itsdannie_

Yesterday’s walk was nice and relaxing. Pain crisis after the 10K kept me in bed yesterday morning but I felt better in the evening and got up to get my steps in. The sunset and moon rise was very beautiful. by @itsdannie_

Let this be encouragement to any runner that the bad days and the slow days count. Every training day matters when it comes to the actual race day. Continue to show up for you.

Hit two personal records today. Fastest 5K time and fastest 10K time. My training has paid off and I’m loving the proof. New medal earned and this one is special because it marks new progress points for me. Closer to my 12min/mile goal which puts me closer to my overall goal of a consistent 10min/mile goal. And Thank You Lord for the excellent weather today.

Couldn’t sleep so I got up earlier than usual and hit the pavement. Getting faster and with Fall setting in I can train better outside without overheating. by @itsdannie_
