Luna and her bestie, One Wish Willow. 🫢

Don’t think for a moment that I’m not telling her mom to dress her up as one for Halloween because I absolutely am! 😂

Chronic illness doesn’t always look the way people think it should.

Sometimes it looks like a girl with her coffee, cute sunglasses, and a smile on her face heading into work like everything is totally normal.

What you don’t see is the exhaustion, pain, inflammation, stress, fear, and the amount of energy it takes just to appear “okay.”

And what a lot of people don’t understand is that chronic illness usually isn’t just battling one thing. These conditions can overlap, trigger other issues, affect multiple systems in your body, and create a ripple effect that impacts every part of your life — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

A lot of us become really good at looking fine while quietly struggling. We still show up. We still work. We still smile. We still push through. And because of that, what we’re dealing with often gets minimized, misunderstood, or brushed off completely.

So this is just your reminder that someone can look perfectly put together and still feel absolutely awful behind the scenes.

Please be kind. You genuinely never know what someone is carrying just beneath the surface.

Luna is obsessed with her beardie sister. I don’t have the heart to tell her that it’s going to be a few months before she sees her again.
