POSTS STORIES REELS

For most of my career, people have known me for lashes, brows, and building beauty businesses.

But there’s another side of my story.

I’ve been an esthetician for 25 years, and over the years I’ve personally navigated eczema, sensitive skin, inflammation, changing skin in midlife, and the frustration of trying products that didn’t always help.

For years, that journey has led me down a path of learning about skin barrier health, ingredients, nutrition, inflammation, and the daily habits that help support healthy skin from the inside out.

More recently, it’s sparked a deeper passion for advanced facial sculpting massage techniques, Korean skincare philosophies, and the slow-aging rituals that help skin look and feel its healthiest at every stage of life.

This page is where I’ll be sharing more of that.

Not perfect skin.

Not unrealistic expectations.

Just real conversations about aging skin, healthy habits, facial massage, Korean skincare, skin barrier health, eczema-friendly tips, and life as a woman in her late 40s.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by skincare advice, frustrated with your skin, or simply want to learn how to better support your skin as it changes with age, you’re in the right place.

I’m so glad you’re here. 💛

Follow along if healthy skin, aging well, Korean skincare, facial massage, and real life in midlife are topics you’d love to learn more about.

At 49, success looks a whole lot different than it did at 29.

And trust me, I still have BIG dreams. 😂

From my first day of esthetics school, I knew I wanted to own a salon, build a team, open multiple locations and teach.

25+ years in beauty, 15 years in business and 3 Eye Candy locations later, I’ve been blessed to live so much of that dream.

But what people don’t always see is what someone was carrying while building it.

I started my business as a single mom, struggling to make ends meet while both my parents battled terminal cancer.

I lost them just five months apart.

Many clients had no idea how much I was hurting.

For that hour, my focus was on helping THEM feel beautiful and cared for. Their happiness brought a little light into a very dark season of mine.

My mom used to call out to my friends and me as we headed out the door, in her Filipino accent:
“Love one another. Take care of one another.”

I can still hear her. 🥹

Years later, when my team helped write our Eye Candy manifesto, leading with love became part of the culture we wanted to build.

Because being a boss isn’t about telling people what to do. It’s about mentoring, caring and helping people grow.

Now, as I deepen my faith, I’m learning to look at success differently.

Not just WHAT I’m building, but WHY.
Not just what I achieve, but who I become and who I help along the way.

I still want to build businesses, mentor women and create more freedom with my time. But not at the expense of God, my health, my family or the relationships that matter most.

Maybe you’re in a season of redefining success too.

Here’s what I hope my story reminds you: you never know what someone else is carrying. Lead with kindness. Surround yourself with people who speak life into you. And don’t let a hard chapter convince you your story is over.

Still learning. Still growing. Still becoming. 🤍

Has your definition of success changed as you’ve gotten older?

Happy Sunday!

This little moment watching Penny move towards the morning sun reminded me that maybe we don’t always need to know exactly where life is taking us.

We can simply enjoy where we are, be grateful for what we have, and trust God with what’s ahead.

And one day, we may look back and realize just how beautifully He was guiding us all along.

Here’s to walking into a new week with gratitude, joy, and a little more trust. 🤍

Happy Sunday!

A little September, a little October and a whole lot of life in between. 🤎

The last few weeks have been full. Family, friends, work, lots of laughter, some changes, new beginnings and all the little moments in between.

And with today being Thanksgiving, I can’t help but reflect on just how much I have to be grateful for.

Life isn’t always perfect. Business isn’t always easy. And some seasons bring changes we didn’t exactly see coming.

But I’m learning that there’s something beautiful about every season of life, even the ones that stretch us a little.

At 49, I’m appreciating the little things more than ever. The people around my table, the friendships, the memories we’re making, the opportunities to keep growing and even the lessons along the way.

There’s been a lot of change lately, but also so much good. And I’m choosing to focus on all the things that make this life such a blessing.

So here’s a little peek at life lately. A full calendar, a grateful heart and a whole lot of memories. 🍂

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends!

Here’s to appreciating where we are, being grateful for what we have and trusting what’s ahead. 🤎

A room full of lash artists doing what they love, and clients who continue to trust us with their lashes. 🥹

After almost 15 years of building Eye Candy, this is still one of my favourite sights.

Grateful for our incredible artists and every client who chooses us.

Winnipeg, you’ve kept us busy, and we don’t take that for granted. 🤍

This is our Portage Location 😊

Some friendships don’t need constant conversation.
They just need you to know…

I’m always here. 🤍

Through every season.
The beautiful ones.
The messy ones.
And the ones you never saw coming.

Happy you’re home here with us and spending little time together. You never have to ask twice .

Love you, Nikki.
Always in your corner. ♡

We spend most of the year working together from behind our screens, so getting everyone together in person for a team retreat just hits different.

Different personalities. Different roles. Different locations.

But the same mission and apparently the same dance moves. 😂

Building something meaningful matters.

But so does building a team that actually enjoys being together.

Remote most days. Making memories when we can. 🤍

Tag the coworker who makes work feel a lot less like work.😅 by @itslorikim

this is the most solid team in the industry. period.

all week long i’ve been getting messages from this team like “i’m so glad i’m here” ... “i never want to leave” ... and honestly? same.

if you’ve been praying for a team like this — proof that it exists. 🥹

and if you want IN? you have to start with the RESPECT Method.

we will teach you sales like you’ve NEVER heard it before. relatable. girl-friendly. no bro-marketing energy. because here’s the truth: if you want to increase your sales, you have to LEARN sales first. nobody’s winging their way to 6 figures.

if you have a service-based business — lash artists, brow babes, injectors, hair stylists, estheticians, nail techs, coaches, photographers, wedding pros, med spas, ALL of you —

comment RESPECT and i’ll save you a seat. 🪑💕 by @itslorikim

If you’re in your 40s and suddenly realizing your body, skin and energy are playing by a completely different rulebook… same. 😂

I’m not trying to rewind the clock.

I don’t want my 29-year-old body back.

I want my 49-year-old body to feel strong, energized and healthy, and I want my skin to look fresh and glowing while I’m at it.

After 25 years in the beauty industry, one thing I believe more than ever is that aging well is an inside + outside job.

What we eat matters.
Protein matters.
Hydration matters.
Sleep matters.
Movement matters.
Stress matters.

And YES, what we put on our skin matters too.

I’m figuring out what actually makes a difference at this age and sharing it as I go.

If this sounds like the season you’re in too, stick around.

At 49, I’m not interested in chasing younger.

I’m interested in feeling energized, supporting my gut, keeping inflammation lower, and having skin that actually looks healthy and alive as I age.

Because here’s what I’ve learned:

You can have the best skincare routine in the world…

but if you’re run down, dehydrated, stressed, not supporting your body well, or constantly feeling inflamed, your skin can still look tired and dull.

And that’s the part I think women in midlife don’t talk about enough.

I’ve dealt with sensitive, reactive skin and eczema for years, so I’ve had to pay attention to more than just what goes ON my face.

What I do consistently underneath matters too.

This little morning combo has been part of my routine since 2023, and I keep coming back to it because it’s easy, it supports the things I care about, and it’s one of those habits I’ve actually stuck with.

Not magic.

Not a quick fix.

Just one of the little things I do consistently because I want to age feeling good and looking refreshed.

If you want to know what’s in my morning glow combo, comment MORNING and I’ll send it to you.

Yes, I’m putting on my NAD+ Serum and lip mask 😂

Because obviously I care about what goes ON my skin.

But at 49, I know beautiful skin is not just a skincare conversation.

It’s also about what’s happening underneath it.

Inflammation.
Hydration.
Nutrition.
Stress.
Sleep.
Hormonal changes.

All of it can show up on our face.

So while I absolutely love good skincare, I’m just as interested in supporting my skin from the inside too.

I don’t want to look 29 again.

I want my 49-year-old body healthy, strong, energized and less inflamed…

and I want that health to show up in my skin.

Fresh.
Glowy.
Alive.
Refreshed.

That’s the goal.

If you’re in this season too and you’ve been focusing only on what you put ON your skin, maybe it’s time to look at the other half of the equation.

DM me GLOW and I’ll tell you what I’ve been changing lately.

My birthday week: sugar, alcohol, gluten, even an egg the morning after celebrating. Worth it at the time.

My wrists had other plans. Swollen, red, so itchy I scratched until I broke the skin, and once it flares it’s not a one day thing.

10 days of cutting out sugar, dairy, gluten, eggs, soy, and alcohol, and this is the same wrists calmed back down.

25 years as an esthetician, and my own body still humbles me weekly. I know exactly what causes it and I still learn that lesson every time I let loose.

If you’ve been feeling sluggish, low energy, your skin isn’t glowing, or maybe you deal with reactive, sensitive skin or eczema too, the next reset group is starting soon. It all starts with what we’re putting in our bodies. Your skin will tell you the truth even when nothing else does.

Comment RESET and I’ll get you the details for September 7th.
