Everyone deserves to be climate safe. No one needs to get there alone.

Elizabeth is a retired farmer from Ontario and a My Climate Plan community member. She’s concerned about how rising oil prices are affecting families, farmers, and the cost of food.

Meanwhile, oil and gas companies are benefiting from record profits.

Should Canada introduce a windfall profits tax on oil and gas companies? We want to hear what you think.

We loved hearing about Adam's experience meeting with his MP in Oakville, Ontario.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Adam. And thank you to everyone in the My Climate Plan community who has stepped up to meet with their MPs and talk about what matters to them - including support for a clean and affordable energy future in Canada and more support for the wildland firefighters keeping our communities safe.

We're so inspired to see all these conversations happening coast to coast to coast. by @itsmyclimateplan

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF A WINDFALL PROFIT TAX??? I had not, and thankfully there’s a very short poll on @itsmyclimateplan website to get our thoughts on it. Let me know in the comments if you took the poll, and what you’re feeling about this!

I’m out here trying to help y’all find love, but have you SEEN the price of gas lately?! 😭😂

Anyway, I’ve teamed up with @itsmyclimateplan and @smallchangefund, who are helping people take action to make their homes and communities more affordable and climate safe.

We’ve got a question for you about oil company profits, and I wanna know what you think!

This past summer, My Climate Plan teamed up with people across Canada, from big cities to small towns, to host community Block Parties.

The goal was to bring neighbours together, build stronger connections, and help communities look out for one another when climate emergencies happen.

Here's one participant, Patrick, sharing why he thinks these connections matter now more than ever. by @itsmyclimateplan

Know someone who's skeptical about heat pumps?

You don't need to have all the answers to have a good conversation. Sometimes, listening and asking the right questions can make all the difference.

A lot of misleading information looks pretty convincing at first. So how can you tell when something online is worth a closer look? We put together three quick checks that can help.

Save this post for later, share it with a friend, or drop it in the family group chat.

More than 5,000 wildfires burned across Canada this summer, forcing thousands of people from their homes and exposing communities to dangerous smoke.

As wildfires grow more severe, we need to make sure the wildland firefighters who keep our communities safe have the support, resources, and equipment they need to protect us.

We're aiming for 20,000 signatures before we deliver our petition to the federal government ahead of the 2026 Fall Budget.

Please sign and share to call for more federal support for wildland firefighters and investment in renewable energy to help tackle the growing wildfire crisis.

Four years ago this week, Hurricane Fiona showed just how vulnerable our Island is to climate change impacts. When I think about Fiona, it’s obvious that we just weren’t prepared to weather a storm of that magnitude. I think about the people who went without power for up to three weeks. I think about the coastal communities who saw their infrastructure literally crumble into the sea. I think about how our provincial and federal governments continue to prioritize fossil fuel development regardless of how it will hurt us.

But I also think about the incredible resilience that Islanders showed, and the deep kindness that neighbours showed each other in the aftermath of the worst storm our province has ever seen. I think about the local Sikh community in Charlottetown cooking massive batch meals for those without power, or a mutual aid group organizing grocery store runs of bread and peanut butter for seniors in need. I think about the volunteers who kept community centres open for people to charge their phones and check the news. And I think about the thousands of Islanders who made sure that their neighbours were okay through sharing food, water, flashlights, and even generators.

This weekend, Islanders came together again to host climate resilience block parties in Charlottetown neighbourhoods thanks to funding from the City and My Climate Plan. I was so honored to interview the event organizers to see why this was a priority for them, and what lessons they’re taking from Hurricane Fiona four years later.

One of the best ways to help anxiety about climate change impacts is to be prepared. I’ve been partnering with My Climate Plan this summer to help equip Canadians with the tools they need to understand climate risks in their own communities. One of the coolest parts about My Climate Plan is that you can actually go to their website and create a tailored climate plan based on your location and interests. They also provide funding for communities to get together and host events like these to make sure that climate resilience isn’t just about individual actions. Link in bio!

I seriously had the BEST time at a climate resilience block party in Charlottetown this weekend. It felt so special to get to connect with my neighbours over a shared interest in keeping our communities safe and connected during climate events.

And the free pizza, Survivor games, live music, emergency kit giveaways, and crafts didn’t hurt either. Shoutout to all the event organizers! They received funding from the City of Charlottetown and My Climate Plan, but I chatted with them during the event and it was really a grassroots community effort led by a few local mothers who wanted to make a difference.

I feel so much more connected to my community after this weekend, and I can’t wait for the next block party.

I’m grateful to @itsmyclimateplan for helping make events like these happen, and if you want to stay tuned for any future events then you can sign up for My Climate Plan’s newsletter The Weekly now at the link in my bio! ☀️

My three favourite words: fun, free, and community!! There are two really cool neighbourhood events happening tomorrow in Charlottetown. Free food, live music, and @peisurvivor hosting mini challenges?? You know I’m there, and I hope you will be too!

If there’s one thing we learned from Hurricane Fiona four years ago, it’s the value of knowing your neighbours and showing up for your community. Full event details live at the link in my bio!
