Salsa Caleña changed the way I listen to salsa. ❤️‍🔥

The rhythms, the accents, the instruments… I started hearing things in the music I had never really noticed before.
And somehow, the more I learn, the more I fall in love with it. 🇨🇴

Where are my Salsa Caleña lovers? ❤️‍🔥

6 months of Salsa Caleña 🇨🇴🎉

Almost entirely self-taught — mostly practicing solo, with just two workshops in Sweden along the way (with @joshdesiena)

I discovered Salsa Caleña through incredible dancers sharing videos online, and that’s where I learned most of the steps I know today.

This little choreography is the kind of routine I use to practice — improvised over a few repetitions at home, just playing with the music and the footwork.

I’m a French guy, and I genuinely fell in love with this style — the speed, the rhythm, the energy… especially when the footwork gets fast. I still can’t quite believe how much faster my footwork has become just from repeating these steps over and over. ❤️‍🔥

Still so much to learn. Maybe one day I’ll make it to Cali. 🇨🇴

Todavía me queda muchísimo por aprender. Quizás algún día vaya a Cali. 🇨🇴

Rumbón Melon ❤️‍🔥

Saw this spot while exploring Budapest and immediately thought: I have to dance here. 🇭🇺

No choreography, barely warmed up — just a song I know, a few steps in mind, and a lot of improvisation.

After a few takes, this happened.

Still crazy to me that some of my impros now feel better than choreographies I worked way too hard on just a couple of months ago. 😭🔥

A Fuego Lento. ❤️‍🔥

This is the first time I’ve filmed myself dancing Salsa Caleña to a slower song.

Usually, I’m drawn to the fast, explosive energy of caleña, but this time I wanted to slow things down and focus less on the steps themselves — cleaner arms, keeping my eyes up, feeling the music, and actually being present while I dance.

This one felt different.

I’m a French guy who started learning #SalsaCaleña about four months ago, mostly training on my own in my dance studio.

I’ve wanted to dance caleña to Quimbara for a while ❤️‍🔥

Tried a few different things, but somehow this little impro ended up being my favorite. Sometimes it’s better not to overthink it. 💃🔥

Two years ago, after only 6 months of dancing salsa, someone thought I was a salsa teacher. 😭

I definitely wasn’t 😂 But looking back at this salsa performance reminds me how much perspective matters.

Sometimes we’re so focused on how far we still have to go that we forget how far we’ve already come. ❤️‍🔥
