The work we do to support families and address food access/insecurity cannot be done without the collaboration and commitment of incredible partners. @ivanhoekcmo is so incredibly proud to share that @slowfoodkc has provided Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council with a generous donation of $5,000 towards the purchase of turkeys for our upcoming Thanksgiving Food Shop Day on 11/21!

This gracious contribution will enable us to again meet our target of serving more than 300 Kansas City households with a turkey and all the fixings for the holiday 🦃.

Gratitude and blessings to @slowfoodkc and all the other incredible social service agencies working to alleviate the cost burden for families this holiday season.

INC will begin accepting non-perishable donations for our Thanksgiving event starting November 9th. by @ivanhoekcmo

@ivanhoekcmo couldn’t have asked for better weather for our neighborhood bike ride with @bikewalkkc. 🚴🏾‍♀️

Participants got a recap on bike safety before jetting off through the community under the careful supervision of “Sensei” and two other great instructors!

We’re serious about improved mobility and pedestrian safety here in Ivanhoe — we hope you’ll join us in this work to make our community a safer and more accessible place to be! by @ivanhoekcmo

Six leaders. One inaugural cohort. Countless ways to create change.

Getting food to the people 🫑🍎🍠🥚👏🏾! @ivanhoekcmo is incredibly for the local farmer fresh food from the @kansascityfoodhub, packed by wonderful volunteers at the Heart of America and at Ivanhoe who unloaded 150 bags *in the rain* here at the neighborhood center.

We will be distributing TODAY (9/25) from 4pm until 6pm at 3700 Woodland Avenue, KCMO. FCFS, open to the public. Residency in Ivanhoe not required!

Each bag contains eggs, apples, sweet potatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, butternut squash, and a green bell pepper — all sourced from farms within 100 miles of KS & MO. Ya’ll, support #localfarms and spread the word! by @ivanhoekcmo

A longstanding illegal dump site at 39th & Wabash needs more than another 311 complaint. It needs us.

This Saturday 8am, Ruby Jean’s Foundation and @ivanhoekcmo are bringing neighbors together to clear it. Come for an hour or stay for the morning. More people make this an easier lift.

This area is in ZIP code 64128. Kansas City’s health plan estimated life expectancy there at 68.1 years in 2019, 18.2 years shorter than in the city’s highest ZIP code. Illegal dumping is one more burden our neighbors should not have to carry.

Saturday, September 26 | 8–11 AM

Meet at the Aldis lot at 39th & Wabash

Wear heavy-duty gloves and hard-sole shoes.

Collective action starts when we show up.
