This illustration was drawn for the contest from the publishing house “Inoplanetyanin”. 🐣

The plot is that the baby is crying for an unknown reason and the parents are trying to figure it out. On the first illustration they assume she wants to eat, but (spoiler alert😄) that’s not the reason she’s upset and on the second illustration the bottle will be thrown away. That’s all we know so far.
⠀
I actually plan to do the concept book project even if I don’t win, but I want to know what happens next! Otherwise I’m gonna have to come up with the story myself…

This is my first try with acrylic markers. I hope I will get better and better with each new drawing. I haven’t drawn traditionally for a looong time so it was a super refreshing experience! The way my hand was shaking… you should’ve seen it.😄
Thanks to @amanda.ninji_illustration for this DTIYS and inspiration to draw such a lovely character!💐

There once was a woman who really wanted to have a child but did not know how to get one. So, she asked an old witch for help. I have a special barley grain, said the witch. Put it in a flowerpot and see what happens!

The woman planted the grain. Immediately a big flower bud appeared. What a beautiful flower, said the woman and she kissed the leaves. Then the flower opened. It was a tulip. In the middle sat a beautiful little girl. She was no bigger than a thumb, so they called her Thumbelina.

“Thumbelina”
