Route du Rhum starts tomorrow. Four years ago I was at the start of this mythic race, what was to become my toughest ordeal in offshore racing. After 7 days of cruel weather conditions and damage to the boat, I retired from the race. Repeated strong weather depressions took a heavy toll on the race fleet within the first week of racing, with over 20 boats retiring, dismasting and capsizing. I will be following this year's edition closely, with a bunch of my friends sailing in the fleet. Looking at the weather and favorable winds in the forecast, the first week looks like a fairy tale in comparison to 2022 edition. But RdR remains one of the toughest challenges out there. Fair winds to all! 📷@mizadrav by @ivicakostelic
Salomon Performance Center opening! 🎉🎊 World cup service is now made available for young athletes. Big step for @salomonalpine @salomon @salomon.dach in supporting performance of their racers. It was great to see some old friends and meet the young ski stars. Congrats to Salomon team. 👏👏👏 #salomonspc 📷 @andi_krisp by @ivicakostelic

The @rolexmiddlesearace, Class 40, the whole race in 2 minutes 🌊 Watch each class with the wind/currents on Telltale: https://telltaleapp.ca/races/rolex-middle-sea-race-2026 About 600 nautical miles from @royalmaltayachtclub , around Sicily past Etna and Stromboli, and back, on five near-identical 40-foot boats. No handicap: first across the line wins. Congratulations @loulou__des__mers (Stella Nova) on the win! Stella Nova made it out of Grand Harbour first, but it was anyone's race. The wind decided it: on the long leg west a hole stopped Talanta and Moonpalace while the leaders slipped away, then caught the leaders too, before a strong breeze around Favignana sent them south. Stella Nova takes it in 3 days, 14 hours and 7 minutes, 50 minutes ahead of Optimus Prime, with Flamingo Rosso, Talanta and Moonpalace following them home. Congratulations to every crew. 🇬🇧Rolex Middle Sea Race with "Optimus Prime", this time crewed with a young skipper @matic_vrecko, @lovre_perhat and Sandi Lulić. It's so good to be back in Malta for Class 40 racing again! Start tomorrow at 11:00 CET from Valletta. Last time I raced here with "Optimus" in 2023, we scored a nice victory and added a final little jewel in the crown of Class 40 Mediterranean trophy.

🇭🇷Projekt Vendee Globe 🌍  Sve počinje u Cannesu! 🇨🇵 Danas sam postao član kluba Yacht Club de Cannes, domaćina mog IMOCA projekta. Ovo je tek prvi korak, no parafrazirajmo staru izreku: „put oko svijeta počinje prvim korakom”! Cannes zauzima posebno mjesto u povijesti moje obitelji. Great adventure @laventura_courseaularge is succesfuly concluded! What an amazing race it was! Seven days of tough and unforgiving neck-to-neck sailing in true "Figaro" style. We survived an orca attack on the first night of the race, which damaged our rudder. Then we fought autopilot issues and were still able to stay inside Top 10 after five days of racing. To be honest, I am a bit disappointed that our sailing wasn't awarded with a better end result. It was by far our best race this season, finally finding much needed improvement in boat speed and tactical decision making. Strategic fail at the final approach in northern Biscay had much to do with surprising change in the weather and we were actually not the ones who lost the most. The fact that in the final meters of the 800-miles long race we fought some of the most successful Figaro sailors out there speaks volumes. Congrats to winner "Macif" and especially our friends of the "Figaro international brigade": @southern_x_racing and @jossbatross onboard "Digilab" finishing 3rd after choosing a very risky strategic option in Biscay which turned out to be the right one. Thanks to my co-skipper Deniz. We made great progress through this season and concluded the season with our best performance. 1. Macif (Dhalleinne/Le Bars) 6d 08min 23s 2. CMB Espoir (Loiseau/Le Pape) +31min 06s 3. Digilab (Cresswell/ Marsh) +1h 04min 34s ... 16. Amelicor (Kostelić/ Bagci) +6h 20min 52s This race concludes my Figaro class season. Moving back to the Med for awhile 🌞 @amelicor.group @aci_marinas @bonimed_ @sail.proof @henrilloyd_ @yachting.mission.524 @dustomsails @lorientlabase_courseaularge by @ivicakostelic
Battle of attrition rages on as we enter the Bay of Biscay. We have been sailing upwind for five days straight, save for a short spell of reaching yesterday. The boat is slamming violently and even the simplest tasks onboard are becoming an extreme sport. We have sailed a good tactical race so far and I am proud of how we have handled our problems. This is @classefigarobeneteau and nothing less than 100% is expected. We are packed within six miles of each other after five days of racing. Ahead of us lies Biscay, with a tricky transition coming up. Keep calm and keep sailing fast. by @ivicakostelic
