@thearcadearena and @vauxhallfoodplacelebrating first born birthday. Family and friends who are now family. Coming together to make his birthday a special one 🙏🏾 by @jaauelinebaker

Yesterday was an interesting afternoon with my godson. At the home of the Eagles, Selhurst Park. It was his first live viewing of a league match. He proudly wore his Palace jersey. Choosing not to zip up despite it being cold 🥶 Eventually the extremity overcame him and he revised that original decision. We stood we sat at each possible opportunity for the eagles to score. Sadly it wasn’t to be on the day, the Eagle’s lost 2-0 His young ears was exposed to some profanity from frustrated 😩 supports. He learnt how the football association is attempting to weed out racism in the game. How grown men can become emotional 🥹 over a ball game. But most of all he learnt that fun with auntie Jackie comes in many forms😉 Most importantly I couldn’t of thought of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon 😊 by @jaauelinebaker

Every time our spouse changes we have a choice to acknowledge that with growth within a relationship comes change. Sometimes good but can also be bad. But it up to us to evaluate whether that is sustainable. God bless all our love, we just have to put the work required in it. by @jaauelinebaker

We didn’t realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun.” New year event with a good friend

The little things often become the stories we tell forever. Attending a live audience debate about the Windrush scandal with my neighbour 🙏🏾

Memories magnifies the good and the bad, wouldn’t have it any other way. I continue to walk the line, feeling blessed by @jaauelinebaker

I saw this posting about reasons why we should recognise and cherish our parents. Then decided to use AI to use treasured moments. To revisit and duplicate my version of my connection with my parents. I am my parent’s greatest critic but I am also their biggest fan base. Without them I wouldn’t be who I am today. The sacrifices they made for my brothers and I out weight anything we could possibly do for them. So today I honour them with this little tribute. Thank you mum and dad 🤗💕 by @jaauelinebaker

It’s black history month in the UK, we celebrate the legacy of black British culture and history. Yesterday I got to witness Sonia Winifred’s My Mother in-Law’s Dresses at Brixton Library. A reminiscence workshop dedicated to the memory of Girleyvine - a Windrush Pioneer. Which showcasing some of her beautiful dresses and photographs, documenting her arrival from Jamaica to West Norwood in 1958. What I enjoyed about this event was the fact it was relatable. The accounts being shared at the workshop/ exhibition were similar to ones in my family. History can be found in so many different ways. It doesn’t have to always be the extraordinary moments in books on shelves. by @jaauelinebaker

Finding a pocket of pure peace right in our backyard. 🌿✨
Yesterday, a neighbor, a friend, and I spent the afternoon escaping the noise in a hidden gem that makes you completely forget you’re still in Croydon. Let’s be honest—Croydon gets a bad rap, and years of financial mismanagement haven’t helped its reputation. But despite its flaws, these secret green spaces are the exact reason I keep falling back in love with where we live. 💚
Did you know this landscape has history stretching back over 400 years? It used to be open land belonging to the Coombe House estate. Fast forward to 1898, and Arthur Lloyd built a stunning 20-room mansion here (Coombe Wood House) and added that gorgeous ornamental rock garden, complete with a pool and waterfall we still love wandering through today. 🌊🪨
While digging into the social history of the Lloyds, I found out their family tree had some serious drama—Arthur and Frank’s parents actually had 11 children out of wedlock before they could legally marry! Thankfully, Frank’s life was a bit more straightforward. He married Helen Julia, and their daughter’s generous land donation to the community is ultimately why we have Lloyd Park today. 🌳
Have you ever explored the hidden historical spots right on your doorstep?

Entertaining, more gore than horror. Loved the comedy elements, found myself laughing through some aspects of the film. by @jaauelinebaker
