Industry of cool 8a+ My last day in Rocklands for 2026 will be a very difficult day of bouldering for me to top I think! After sending Mooistie in the morning I headed out to 8 day rain in the afternoon to throw myself at one of the coolest and most unique boulders anywhere. Given how much I’ve thrown myself around on plastic in the gym, I expected this boulder to perhaps feel easier than it did but I guess there’s good reason it’s as rarely repeated as it is! Over my 4 trips I’ve probably had close to 100 attempts over 6 or so sessions. It’s one that you can think you’re close on for a long time. Luckily I got lucky! So so rad! by @jackmasel
Moostie Meisie 8b Wow. Just wow. What a perfect end to an epic 4 weeks. Last day Hail Mary attempts don’t usually go like this! So grateful to scrape my way up this thing as the impending sun and heat crept its way across the wall. Unbelievable. This alone would have been the dream end to the trip but I had one more boulder on my list to try before we flew home ✈️ Thanks to everyone who was a part of this journey, you know who you are 🤝 by @jackmasel
Black Shadow (8a+) Stoked to get this one done! It’s a boulder that I’ve dabbled with every previous rocklands trip but never persevered with for one reason or another. It’s good to have committed and get it done. Thanks to the Sydney lads for the couple of sessions working this one and to @aidenyanev and @marleyfarquharson who reminded me of the benefits of ‘fun maxxing’ - wise beyond their years! 🎥 @sp.climbs by @jackmasel
Airstar ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I can’t imagine a more iconic Rocklands boulder to do as my first ever 8b/V13. It’s undoubtedly one that suited my strengths and morphology but regardless I’m beyond stoked to have climbed it. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t having serious doubts about my bouldering shape coming into this trip (and in recent years in general) so this milestone feels particularly meaningful for me. Huge thank you to everyone who carried pads, spotted, filmed or gave psych and congratulations - I truly felt the support! There’s so much more I could say about this send and what it means but I’ll save that story for another day. Still in disbelief 🤯 by @jackmasel
Successful day one in the books for Rocklands 2026! Spent the morning at Plateau with the crew getting acquainted before heading to Seance for a late arvo session. Seance (8a) - mega new classic! by @jackmasel
Pretty rare for me to have to climb THIS spanned. Tour de Babel originally caught my attention because of a reel where the climber was using toe hooks on one arete and hands on the other to solve the bottom crux in a very cool way but as it turns out, this wide compression method suited me much better and I couldn’t not climb such an amazing feature regardless. Another classic from the forest 🌳 by @jackmasel
Ill Nino (8a) - Elephante What a great way to end our 9 days in Font. To say that I’m impressed with the area would be an understatement! For a place like this, with the reputation it has, to over-deliver on expectations says a lot. It really does have it all. It was so cool too, to see Kwin run around the forest on her first ever bouldering trip - really her first time bouldering outside at all - and absolutely crushing. I loved watching people’s reactions as she’d find the most unlikely sequences and solutions, yet executed with such grace. Clearly some mix of surprised, confused and impressed 😳🤯😮‍💨 It feels like we only scraped the surface of what this place has to offer and I really hope we can make it back here again sometime in the future 🤞 by @jackmasel
Rainbow Rocket ✅ I must have known of this boulder for more than a decade! I’ve seen countless videos of this iconic bloc and it feels amazing to have come to Font, the birthplace of bouldering and to have had the privilege to climb it. Shout out to @9degreessydney for making this trip possible and to Kwin and @micky_jt for the spots, video & support! Here’s to hopefully more rock content again in the future 🤞 by @jackmasel
