Meet the Band: Jackson Alter 🎸⚡- an ALTERnative indie rock artist from Jacksonville Beach whose music was born out of one of the most difficult chapters of his life. After a devastating car accident nearly two years ago left him unable to talk, chew, or sing, the future of his music career suddenly became uncertain.

Instead of walking away from music, Jackson turned to songwriting as a way to process everything he couldn’t say out loud. What came from that journey is a collection of songs built around resilience, vulnerability, and finding hope in the middle of the mess.

Blending infectious indie rock with honest reflections on anxiety, self-doubt, and growth, Jackson’s music invites listeners into the highs and lows of rebuilding yourself. Just a few months ago, he wasn’t sure if he’d ever make it back on stage. Now, he’s stepping into a new chapter and inviting everyone to be part of the comeback story.

For Jackson, this project has never just been about making songs. It’s proof that even when life changes your path, you can still find your way back to what you love.

Jackson Alter is making his Indie Night debut at Kona Skatepark in Jacksonville on July 25th alongside hallpass, Rohna, and Cdubz. Come experience the first-ever live performance of his debut EP: SLUDGE and celebrate a moment that’s been years in the making.

SLUDGE EP IS OUT NOW!

To say I’m proud is an understatement. I hadn’t felt like myself since the car accident. I have learned more about myself than I ever thought I would need to (or wanted to lol). My whole life I’ve been internally battling my self-esteem and my self-perceptions. “Short Fuse” is a culmination of all the lies I tell myself. I didn’t think I deserved to be happy and that’s how SLUDGE was born. Out of my worst habits and my vices, I have created my debut EP. I am turning my worst enemy, into my bright future. I have felt like a shell of myself since losing my ability to sing but, if you never get lost you’ll never get found.

I have found a new passion for who I know I can become. This has been a dream of mine since first picked up a guitar and wrote my silly songs as a child. Now, as someone battling injury, addiction, and myself I know that my dream is a reality if I allow it to be.

To everyone who has been by my side along this journey— thank you. These songs are my way of expressing the things I often times can’t admit to myself or you. Thank you for growing with me, thank you for sludging with me, and thank you for believing in me.

Special thanks to @lazulivane & @danielpo for helping me make this record and being the coolest friends ever. Little Jackson is beyond proud.
