Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds and shall find me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul. WILLIAM ERNEST HENLEY by @jaiiesq

#HappyFathersDay - To the man that always has your back! 🕊️🥲 by @jaiiesq
My dad with his right hand man, Lonnie C. King, Jr., founder of the Atlanta Student Movement after they ushered during the March on Washington. They grew up running around Atlanta together. Attended Morehouse together. Then strategized the greatest display of black resistance ever witnessed in America. “Joe that was one hell of a day. We marched. We partied. We put the world on notice. We were tired and not standing for it any longer!” ✊🏾 by @jaiiesq
Today we celebrated the life of my auntie Elaine Arrington Daniel (L) pictured with my mom. They met in 8th grade at the new black high school Henry McNeil Turner High School and graduated in 1956. She introduced my mom to my dad. They all attended the AU Center. She at Clark, my mom at Spelman and dad at Morehouse. Rest in peace Auntie. See you on the other side. Tell Mom and Dad we have it from here 🕊️ by @jaiiesq

Trailblazing ain’t easy. Welcome to Atlanta! by @jaiiesq
“I want to get paid, like RICO WADE” Damn! Damn! Damn James! Rico Wade @ricowadedf was a TRUE VISIONARY! The inspiration for our city’s music community during our generation. Gave our city its hip hop voice. Brought the style and vitality of SW Atlanta to the world. 🌎 When he moved the world famous Dungeon Studio to Adams Drive in the SWATS, the neighborhood embraced the new millionaire and he embraced us. We practically became neighbors. Last year of law school, I worked with Bernard Parks, Jr. at DuBois Management, manager of Goodie Mob. Organized Noize had its offices across the hall. I got to know Rico, Ray, Sleepy, Mone and Dee Dee. We had one mission - “Put on for Atlanta!” Rico invited me to the Dungeon during construction while he renovated the house, recording sessions, video shoots, parties and Grammys 2004. He would say “You coming lawyer?”. Didn’t have to ask twice, I’m there homie. After promoting our Outkast concert at Super Bowl in 1998, for years my cousin Marvin @marvinarringtonjr and l would hound RIco about us creating a Dungeon Family Tour. He had no interest, but told us to make it happen. Fast forward 20 years. At the inaugural A Town Music Fest @atownmusicfestival featuring Big Boi @bigboi and Goodie Mob he pulled us aside and said “You finally did your Dungeon Family concert!” Yes we did! Complete with a proclamation from the City of Atlanta as Dungeon Family Day but really Rico Wade Day. I reached out earlier this year when I heard you were having health challenges . Hoped you would pull through. This one hurts 🥲 Rest well homie! 🕊️Photo by: @shannonmccollum by @jaiiesq
Thirty Three Years in this thing of ours.. ‘Til The Day l Die φνπ ♦️ by @jaiiesq
I enjoyed returning to @cau1988 this weekend along with my cousins @marringtonatl @marvinarringtonjr to support the For The Love of CAU Athletics banquet fundraiser which aids in funding athletic scholarships. The @cauathletics honored alumnus Judge Marvin S. Arrington @bolegs with the 2024 Trailblazer Award. Judge Arrington was a student athlete in football and tennis whose civic and political achievements were recognized. As a former scholarship student athlete competing in tennis, l was pleased to hear of the progress and future plans for the athletic program, including the recent renovation of the athletic lounges by @egyptsherrod of the reality show Married To Real Estate. Congratulations to the coaches, staff and student athletes. We continue, “To Find A Way, Or Make One”. 🐾 🐾 by @jaiiesq
