I still love making music. I just don’t care to promote it like I used to. As I’ve grown, I’ve become more aware that some people see my work but choose not to support it—or they act dismissive or try to undermine me. Because one thing God has shown me is to believe people the first time they show you who they are. It’s all good, though. I’m a real artist, and I’ll always create because I love it, not because I’m chasing attention or validation. I pay attention to everything, and most of the time I don’t say anything because I’m very blunt and passionate. I know if I speak, I’m going to say exactly what’s on my mind. But one thing about me—if you want to know something, it’ll be in the music. It’s always been like that. The answers to a lot of the questions y’all ask, or wonder about—who I’m cool with, who I’m not, how I really feel—it’s all in the music. I’ve been through a lot, and I’ve spent a long time holding things in, which isn’t healthy because eventually it’ll come out, and sometimes that means snapping at the wrong time.
