I’ve always been a fan of @hopeandsocial since my early days @hepworthwakefield and @harewoodhouse and tonight they brought their wonderful singer songwriting to Leeds Light Night.

In glorious technicolour and sound - thanks to @imitatingthedog - even the most reticent in the audience started to sway and hum.

Do watch with the sound on 😁

To @derbycathedral Monday night to celebrate the opening of @lukejerramartist Helios for the start of the cathedral’s centenary year.

There has been a church on the site since 943 AD and today the cathedral houses the tomb of Bess of Hardwick - who with Sir William Cavendish - bought Chatsworth and developed an estate for the many generations of Duke of Devonshires’ to follow.

Thank you Dr Peter Robinson #deanofderby

Cecil Beaton @harewoodhouse in partnership with @nationalportraitgallery looked stunning in the state rooms. Plus a wonderful photo linking Beaton’s work to the Cavendish family at Chatsworth…

In 1932, after a 27-year dancing partnership with her brother, Fred, Adele Astaire (pictured here with her brother) retired from the stage to marry Lord Charles Cavendish, the second son of the 9th Duke of Devonshire. The couple moved to the Cavendish estate of Lismore Castle in Ireland.

Beaton beautifully captured their joy, going on to photograph many stars and theatre talent including the late Earl and Countess of Harewood. Lord Harewood who was MD of ENO and founder of Opera North amongst many other achievements.

The last couple of photos are wonderful examples of Beaton’s playful approach with multiple exposures of playwright Harold Pinter and ability to capture the effortless beauty of Ingrid Bergman

Thank you Becky Burton and @_rachelcrewes for a wonderful tour

Remembering the joy last weekend hosting @thequeensreadingroom @chatsworthofficial and welcoming HM the Queen with @gylesbrandreth Chair of QRR Amanda MacKenzie and Lord Lieutenant Liz Fothergill. @llderbyshire

The evening was completed by a fabulous literary panel discussion with Lee Childs @jackreacherbooks @jojomoyesofficial @katemossewriter @kenfollettauthor

A great way to celebrate #nationalyearofreading #chatsworth

We did it! Breaking ground on our £7.2m restoration of the Cascade @chatsworthofficial

Seen here one of our wonderful Chatsworth volunteers Terry Taylor and young journalist academy participant Amy Hughes lifting the first stone on a historic water feature built in the 1690s.

Thank you so much @heritagefunduk and to so many donors who have supported to get us to this point. We now have the final £500k left to raise to complete the job 🤞 We hope to finally switch the water back on and bring this much loved heart of our garden back to life.

Congratulations @nicholascullinan and all of the team @britishmuseum on Bayeux Tapestry show - what a triumph. Despite the queue of so many in the art world tonight, it was worth the wait!

Back to work after Mexico and a beautiful day @chatsworthofficial for the Country Fair. Had the great pleasure of greeting and a salute from the Royal British Legion Parachute Display Team as they landed from the sky above - but sadly forgot to get a photograph!
