I recall when I was small how I spend my days alone by @jannekls

For this photoshoot, I went for a 70s-inspired look. The key elements were blue eye makeup and oversized vintage glasses. I styled the outfit with flared pants and a yellow jacket, and added a scarf in bold orange-brown tones for extra color. I shot the look in a metro station in Vienna, which gave the outfit a cool urban backdrop.

This Post is dedicated to Udo Jürgens:

Udo Jürgens (1934–2014) was one of the most influential and beloved entertainers in German-speaking Europe. Born in Klagenfurt, Austria, he grew up with a passion for music and began composing at a young age. Over the course of his long career, he became famous as a singer, songwriter, and pianist, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire audiences today.

Jürgens first rose to international fame in 1966 when he won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Merci, Chérie”. This victory not only introduced him to a broader European audience but also marked the beginning of a remarkable career spanning more than five decades. He went on to release over 50 albums, many of which reached top chart positions in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. His music often combined catchy melodies with thoughtful, sometimes socially critical lyrics, making him a unique voice in pop and schlager music.

One of his trademarks was his ability to connect with people of different generations. Songs like “Griechischer Wein”, “Aber bitte mit Sahne”, and “Ich war noch niemals in New York” became timeless classics, widely sung at family gatherings, festivals, and concerts. His lyrics often reflected everyday life, longing, and hope, making listeners feel understood and uplifted.

Beyond music, Udo Jürgens was known for his elegance and charisma on stage. He performed in front of millions and always appeared in his signature white grand piano and stylish suits. In total, he composed more than 1,000 songs and sold over 100 million records worldwide.

Udo Jürgens passed away in 2014 at the age of 80, shortly after a concert tour. His passing marked the end of an era, but his songs remain part of cultural memory. He is remembered not only as a great musician but also as a storyteller who gave joy, comfort, and inspiration through his art. by @jannekls
