Y’all have to stop calling this a trauma bond!

Some folks are simply using it wrong 😬. Respectfully 🙃

There’s a difference between connection and emotional attachment formed through toxicity.

Most people aren’t trauma bonded, they are just connected through similar struggles.

That’s not the same thing.

What’s another term people misuse? I might break it down next!

Grateful to have been a part of The Washington Center’s FIRST Career Launch Bootcamp at UNC-Greensboro! Acting as the featured speaker for the “Public Speaking & Effective Professional Communication” session was truly incredible! We laughed, we learned, we encouraged each other, and left with a stronger sense of purpose, passion, and power!

Speaking to these future innovators reminded me why I do what I do. Helping these students and emerging leaders find their voices, embrace their confidence, and walk boldly into what’s next was truly humbling.

Thank you baby girl for being Daddy’s assistant and cheerleader! You earned that ice cream 😁. Thank you to The Washington Center and to UNCG Career & Professional Development for an unforgettable experience. To every participant who showed up ready to learn & grow…do it scared, do it now, and most importantly keep going!

Anxiety isn’t the enemy—it’s your child’s emotional smoke alarm! 🚨

Licensed clinical social worker @jarendoby explains why back-to-school jitters and new grade nerves are completely normal. Instead of just trying to "smother out the fire," our job as parents is to figure out what’s actually setting off the alarm in the first place. 🧠✨

Struggling to get your kid to open up when they’re overwhelmed? 🗣️ @jarendoby, LCSW with Novant Health, breaks down the simple "3 Cs" framework every parent needs to know to build emotional resilience and handle tough situations together:

Connect: Be present without distractions (no phones, no screens) so your child feels heard.

Calm: Kids feed off our energy—a composed approach prevents escalating the mood.

Coach: Guide them to problem-solve instead of jumping in to fix everything for them.

How do you help your kids process big emotions? Let us know in the comments! 👇

Honored to be featured by @spectrumnews1nc discussing why emotional strength for fathers isn’t about staying silent, it’s about having the courage to speak up. Because one too many fathers suffer in silence…

A special thank you to Antonio Tolson and his family for sharing such a powerful and vulnerable story regarding autism, fatherhood, and resilience. Your willingness to tell your journey is creating space for other fathers to heal 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾.
