Before a YN, there was us 😂💙 Dodger Ent!

I was 19 in this video back in 2007, rocking a Coogi shirt from down Dudley, with the bracelet, ring and earring from downtown. Fresh off a graveyard shift and most likely had a pack of jums in my hoop (Ass) ❄️ 🍑😂🐶💤

Back then, we called lower Roxbury the combat zone. My hood was surrounded by Mass Ave (methadone mile , Blue Hill Ave and Dudley Station. That shit was drug infested , Op projects right down the street and different hoods literally blocks away. We’d stay up all night getting money in rentals, then go to school the next morning like nothing happened 😂🙏🏾

Back then you had to have Affiliations . One of our comrades was Will Jack @jackmoneyy from Hammond St / L St 💙 RIP my brother. We shared some of the best teenage memories I could ever have. Some shit I can talk about, some shit I can’t. Sometimes I still tear up thinking about those days and the people who ain’t here to reminisce with us.

19 years later, watching the “You Ain’t That Dude” video brings it all back. A whole era. A whole lot of memories 💙🕊️ RIP N.O. Rip Will Jack

I’ve been through almost everything the streets can bring, gang violence, murder cases, incarceration, losing my sister, and losing countless family members and friends to violence. Growing up in Roxbury, trauma became a part of everyday life but I refused to let it become the end of my story.

I made the decision to change my life, turn my pain into purpose, and become a successful father, businessman, community advocate, and productive citizen. The transition into everyday society after surviving that kind of trauma isn’t easy , but it is possible💯

I’m speaking for everyone who feels trapped by where they come from or haunted by what they’ve been through. Your past may explain you, but it does not have to define you. You can heal. You can change. You can make it out. And you can build a life that at one time you didn’t think was possible.

I’m honored to join the Love ≠ Violence panel as a guest speaker and share my story of survival, transformation, healing, and hope. Tomorrow 6pm❗️#RipMimi 💜
