Unforgettable day yesterday, meeting this legend and genius in music at his home in Rio, listening to his stories about Berlin in the 80s and his thoughts about music and composition! Plus I received a song as a gift from him 😊 gonna practice it today!
At 86 he's still writing music everyday, touring with his band, always ready for a joke... Unbelievable. Viva Hermeto!

Za nami kolejny Weekend z Kulturą w Domu Artysty z koncertem i wspaniałymi Artystami: Johannes von Ballestrem & Pietro Ballestrero 🎶

Pełna sala, wspaniała atmosfera i przede wszystkim – MUZYKA! Fortepian i gitara klasyczna w niezwykłym muzycznym dialogu.

Improwizacja, wzajemne słuchanie i ogromna radość wspólnego grania – a resztę niech opowiedzą zdjęcia @jankruk.photography 📷

Dziękujemy Artystom za muzykę i emocje, a Publiczności – za obecność i długie brawa. 💛

Back in 2020, covid times, I found this guy Pietro Ballestrero online. He’s from Turino, the area where my family came from over 300 years ago, back when they were also called Ballestrero! We started talking and kind of decided that we are lost cousins (we did since research, it's not as far fetched as it sounds!). So, he’s not only a great guy and possibly family, but also a really fantastic guitarist. In 2021 we had the opportunity to meet up in Switzerland and play 2 concerts, and, what can I say, the chemistry was there right away!
I’m so happy we met and connected, and so excited that we’ll finally do it again next weekend!!! by @jballestrem

Unexpected career highlight :

A fan (I've never met) sent me a handwritten letter, asking for 2 signed photographs! I wasn't really aware I had a fan 😊 I guess in the daily struggle, (musicians life can a bit more tough than generally presented on social media), I sometimes forget how much one show can mean to someone in the audience, and how this is the whole reason to do what we do!

Soooo, can you help me out? @lukas.c.diller took so many cool pictures of me recently, I printed and signed some, which 2 should I choose? by @jballestrem

This is me, back from the holidays, not quite believing and super excited that I’ll finally record my first album as a leader in a few days!
Great new picture by @lukas.c.diller by the way 🔥
Also: 2 days ago I got my diploma in traditional Parmigiano Reggiano production.
One of these is a lie, obviously.
More news to come 😎 by @jballestrem
