Introducing CarePod - an activity pack for people living with dementia.

Designed for @tedi_london as a proposal to help @britishlandplc make @canadawatermasterplan a dementia friendly environment.

How does it work?

The service operates in a circular system - activities are packed into the CarePods and then they're delivered to dementia care facilities. The activities are used by the residents and the resulting artworks are picked up and taken to be installed on the public display. They remain up for a week until the next cycle of installations, where the work is then removed, archived and the CarePod is cleaned, ready for repacking.

It has been proved that art therapy can enhance cognition, improve sensory motor functions, enhance social skills and boost self-esteem. With CarePod we help care workers stay engaged by providing a medium for interaction and creation.
CarePod allows the residents to express themselves, share insights and stories to the public realm where their artworks are displayed in the public installation. The art display aims to spark conversation, spread awareness and break down previous fear barriers that people have with dementia.

Thank you @evas_web for the insights and feedback along the way 😊

Design project for United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3.6: “By 2020, halve the number of deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents.” No matter how rapid the arrival of professional emergency responders, bystanders will always be the first to a crash scene.

RoadMate is a public roadside first-aid kit designed so unqualified bystanders can medically assist victims of car accidents before emergency services arrive.

Thanks @lanidavies_ for the medical tips and collaboration.
