“I had no idea why you had to experience this adventure alone without me. But I hope it gave you a glimpse into me the way I wanted you to see me, strong, powerful, and magical” ………………………… SHE KILLS MONSTERS September, 2026 W/ @gatordesigntech ………………………… She Kills Monsters follows the story of an incredibly ordinary young woman named Agnes, who has to process the loss of her not so ordinary younger sister. To achieve this, Agnes decides play through a Dungeons and Dragons campaign her younger sister left behind, a world full of monsters, magic, and many things that Agnes was an outsider too. This magic has manifested as a physical element in our scenic and lighting design, existing as veins that transform Agnes world into magical forests, volcanic lavas, the wings of a dragon, and various other elements. This exists in stark contrast to Agnes bland reality, lit nearly exclusively with generic angles in unsaturated color. The campaign exists in a much more magical world, with rich bold color, light that takes on complex movements and shapes, and occasionally comes from stylized low angles. ………………………… #SHEKILLSMONSTERS at @ufsotd , September, 2026 🎭Director: Tim Altmeyer 💡Lighting Designer: Me! ⚡️Asst. It’s pretty rare that I get to create a design with such a talented team, and for a story that is so personal to me. This entire design is incredibly full circle from when I started this silly little lighting adventure 7 years ago, and I am thrilled to finally be able to share it with others. by @jcoodylighting
“All to ensure that their meat, when it finally gets to their table, is the freshest purest, sanest, and happiest” Excited to share some photos from my lighting design of Harvest @ufsotd A central inspiration for my design this idea of “cleaning the cattle” but through a sense of cultural elimination and the removal of identity. As the life of the Prakash family becomes sucked into modern technology and wealth, their home and culture falls apart. The warm inviting ambers shift to a sharp sterile white over the course of the three act play. As Ginni eliminates any form of culture from their lives, the texture seeps away. @gatordesigntech …………………………… #Harvest at @ufsotd , April, 2025 Director: Jashodhara Sen @2dogsnacat Lighting Designer: Me! “Out of the sea, wish I could be, part of that world” At the center of Disney’s The Little Mermaid is the subject of self transformation, and using that as a medium to leave one world and go to another. With the opposing worlds of the ocean and human world, a color scheme was created to symbolize them. A deep rich blue representing king Triton and his kingdom, and a warm golden amber for Prince Eric. As the bridge between these worlds exists Ariel’s lighter blue hue, held down by her father’s rich blue, and Sebastian as an off white, symbolizing the voice of reason. Across these colors, a journey is able to take place in the lighting. At the forefront of this all exists glowing sea glass panels created in collaboration with this brilliant production team. The panels function to both frame the story telling through guiding in location, and as a literal emotional medium to guide the audiences feelings. They transform from ocean ripples, to coral reefs, to sunsets. In the way Ariel and the world around her is literally transforming, the set in itself is transforming too. ………………………… #TheLittleMermaid at @youngactorstheatre_tlh , November, 2025 🎭Director: @nataliefutrell1 💡Lighting Designer: Me! 🏡Scenic Designers: @g.mosier1952 & @whittenberg_creative 👗Costume Designer: Mandy Sorenson 💿Projection Design : @babababoil 📸Photos: Me! ………………………….. #theatre #lighting #stagelighting #theatredesign #productiondesign #lightingdesign #yat #costumedesign #scenicdesign #UF #Design by @jcoodylighting

A collection of works from Intro to Design with @gatordesigntech this past Spring. As someone who’s often struggled with many visual mediums, I made an effort to push myself and try and utilize mediums that I had little to no experience in. by @jcoodylighting

“Step on my neck and get blood on your Nike checks, I don’t mind ‘cause one day you’ll respect The Good Kid, m.A.A.d City” A theoretical design of the @kendricklamar album, Good Kid m.A.A.d City. I’ve had an ache to make compositions to this album so I decided to explore this piece over the past couple of hours. I found myself taking heavy inspiration from battlefield cross imagery used in warfare, and connecting that to the gang violence and warfare that is discussed in the album. Visually, I transformed these crosses into trusses with light, showcasing the glorification of violence that the album speaks against. I also found the iconic Van associated with the album manifesting in this design, by being abstracted and taken apart. The location of the van helps balance the compositing, while functioning as a symbolic piece that showcases the characters connection to his life spent in Compton, and how it is a part of his life that is always overlooking him. by @jcoodylighting
