Latin meets hustle dance. Latin is a set choreography while Hustle is a lead and follow, improvisation, trusting yourself and freeing.
A few years ago, I watched my friends Jeru, kathy and Myla dance social (and killing it). I realized it was time to face my fears and learn how to follow. Funny enough, it was this song “September” that jd invited me to dance on the side. Here I am , years later at cal chic dancing on the side with JD (and having entered a social dance comp with my fabulous dance sisters).
Thank you Heather Smith and Alex Novikov for inviting us to your wonderful one day competition in January. ❤️
Challenge yourself. 🕺💃🪩
Thank you to my OGFab4 sisters for the inspiration and support @jeru_suda @kathy.current @mygemla ❤️🪩
Thanks JD 🥰🌹for your patience and kindness to help me face my fears and find joy in following.

East Coast Swing - A fun and energetic partner dance that evolved from the Lindy Hop in the United States. It is danced to swing or rock-and-roll music and features a lively rhythm with triple-step and rock-step patterns. The dance emphasizes quick footwork, spins, and turns, while allowing for improvisation and playful interaction between partners. #eastcoastswing #ecs #swingdance #swingdancing #Ballroom by @jddancepro

This birthday felt extra special.
The greatest gift wasn’t the celebration—it was having the health and strength to be back on the dance floor doing what I love.

Thank you to everyone who joined me at Cicada and to everyone who sent birthday wishes, texts, calls, and messages. I felt so loved and appreciated.
Good health, great friends, and shared memories are true wealth.

My wish for you is that you never take those gifts for granted. Life moves quickly—so do what you love, spend time with the people who matter, and make every season count.

We are in the ballroom and dancing some classy Bachata. This isn't the clubs of LA but we can still do it prim and proper in a ballroom. #JDDancePro and #JudytheJet are working their magic on the floor!

Bachata - This dance, originally from the Dominican Republic, has swept its way through the world and is often viewed in Salsa clubs as the “slow dance”. Although most commonly danced to artists like Aventura and Prince Royce, the Bachata is a great party dance that can also be done to most Top 40 and Pop music. #bachata #bachatadance #latindance #Ballroom by @jddancepro

The dark season didn’t break me.
It built me.
✨
This past season tested me in ways I didn’t expect.
There were moments of waiting, uncertainty, silence, and having
to trust God when I couldn’t yet see the outcome.
✨
But I’ve learned this: just because life feels dark doesn’t mean God is absent.
Sometimes, He does His deepest work where no one else can see.
✨
He was building strength, humility, discipline, and a faith that refused to quit.
If you’re in a season that feels delayed or unclear, don’t lose heart. I’ve come to
learn its preparation, not punishment.
✨
My next column in Asian Journal is a personal reflection on what God
can grow in us during the hidden seasons. Read the full article out this week.

West Coast Swing - Differing from the high-energy, highly-rotational, and bouncy East Coast Swing, the West Coast Swing is a slinky slot-style dance. While music for this style can vary greatly, it is traditionally danced to rock ‘n roll in more of a Blues style. The West Coast Swing is great for learning connections, improvisation, and musical expression. #Westcoastswing #swingdance #swingdancing #WCS by @jddancepro

Some moments are meant to be lived fully.
✨
A sweet reminder to bask in the present, savor the joy in front of you, and share those moments with people you care about. Life moves fast… nights like this matter.
