Today is the one year of Papa Coy’s passing. To honor him and his life, we spent today and will spend Sunday enjoying the things that made him happy.

He loved McDonalds and so we treated our @packageplusprinting staff. We said new eulogies over soft serve at Yogurtland (his fav when he did all his good habits for the week).

Coy’s cried a great deal today and he just looks so much like his dad when he does. It’s bittersweet but I carry this sweet old man with me everywhere: our old haunts, our talks, our jokes, and our love for family. by @jeaniebeanmarie

Happy 6th birthday to Stitch! You’re officially older than me now being 48 years old in dog years 😭

Coy and I realize today that Papa Coy stayed 1 day longer for Stitch’s 5th birthday before passing. Their friendship and love for each other was so deep. by @jeaniebeanmarie

When people say it’s “just a dog”

Have you ever experienced the dilated look in their eyes from you just waking up?
Have you ever experienced feeling low after a long day and just being comforted when you get home?
Have you ever been followed in every room of your house just cus you were there?

The list goes on. He’s not just a dog and I assure you I’m not “just” his human either ❤️ #bassethoundsofinstagram #basset by @jeaniebeanmarie

All month of October I thought of the wise words that my bestie @sensantos.salas said, “Grief comes in waves and I know the best thing we can always do is live the life our grandmothers worked so hard for us to have.”

I did my best to enjoy all the big and lil wins in October. I rested, I cooked, I crafted, I drew, I worked out, and I spent time with blood and chosen family.

Cheers to falling into myself more this fall (November). Thank you October. by @jeaniebeanmarie

Halloween 2026 at the Hollars house! First time in five years the Munsons were not Bears lol by @jeaniebeanmarie

All set up and praying it doesn’t rain. Hope the kids enjoy this curated lil comics corner for Halloween!

The only thing scary here is our hound dog howlin 🤣 by @jeaniebeanmarie

Miss you Papa Coy! His job was giving fists full of candies (cus Coy Jr. is about candy portion control) and I’d be giving comics.

It raining on year 1 without him doing what we love doing (spoiling neighborhood kids) is poetic. I’ll still be giving out comics and candy somehow (figuring it out lol) by @jeaniebeanmarie

Just been working on my book, studying scenes, practice sketches and found this clip of my Lola. Holding hands on a peaceful day in Tagaytay. (2024)

She survived war, losses, typhoons, and a pandemic. Sometimes I think about how she used those hands to dress make, dish wash, and raise pigs. What a privilege to hold those hands in mine. by @jeaniebeanmarie

Tonight me and @nikogmw watched GHOSTED live by Roz thanks to @colesmcgee for my belated bday gift 💝 by @jeaniebeanmarie

It’s been a year since my Lola died and I tried to make peace with the fact a healthy woman died. She was just having another day sweeping the front of her house and talking to neighbors. I’ve just been more angry than at peace this week. Anger came late in the stages of grief for me because I forced myself to accept her passing so suddenly from a fall.

It’s been really hard not to be with my family today on this day. 😞 by @jeaniebeanmarie
