Finally ready to unveil the final portraits!

These are a combination of photography, practical effects (props, set, costumes), and digital illustration done by me in procreate. I couldn’t find the backdrops I wanted for the price I wanted and the colors I needed, so I tried my hand at painting with light instead. Success!

Gricelda’s portrait was inspired by the work she does and the way she allows empty pages to soar & become stories. Devising isn’t always easy though. A lot of ideas actually end up in the trash and it can be a frustrating journey. But when you finally fill the pages, you breathe new life into the world.

Let's make a see through dress for our production of Jane Eyre with Austin Shakespeare together.

1st picture - Final product. They'll get hung as set dressing floating over the actors as shown in the corner!

1. First, we have the dress shape that the actors are wearing on stage.
2. After a few chats with the scene designer we make the decision to make the dresses short sleeve to match what's on the rendering. So we adjust the sleeve.
3. We take apart the dress to create a pattern.
4. I could've reassembled the dress to see if we liked the shape, but I needed to know how much fabric was used to know how much netting fabric I needed to buy. So a mock up was made with muslin!
5. Once the shape is approved and notes are given, we cut our net fabric using the pattern we've created, piece them together, and VOILA we have a completed dress!

Now, 4 more of these to go.

Working on a full dice pillow set for our home.
Still adjusting some of the patterns and things but they look pretty good for mock-ups ♥️
