SHABDAM 🦚
Performer : @jenniferkhandka

In a traditional Bharatanatyam Margam (the sequential order of a performance), the Shabdam is the first item where the dancer introduces Abhinaya (expressive, mimetic acting) alongside rhythmic dance.

A Shabdam is almost always devotional or narrative. It typically praises the glories, qualities, or stories of a deity (like Krishna, Shiva, or Murugan) or a royal patron.

The Theme: “Venu Ganam” translates to the divine music of Krishna’s flute. The item beautifully depicts the stories and playful mischiefs (Leelas) of Lord Krishna.
Just like the hypnotic depth of Krishna’s signature color, Jennifer’s Abhinaya holds a magnetic pull. Her transitions seamlessly capture the divine, enchanting aura of the flute player.
She doesn’t just dance; she narrates a timeless divine story through pure grace and absolute devotion.
