POSTS STORIES REELS

This is why I love guiding retreats … they offer space to explore the practice of yoga and ayurveda as a way of life.
Rooted in mindfulness, balance, connection, self love and living in rhythm with nature.

The philosophy, the devotion, the stories, the practices that extend far beyond physical postures.

@jennyhoffman thank you for sharing this space with me (being chief fire keeper🥰) and creating a meaningful experience to nourish the body, mind and soul.
Grateful to all the special women who joined us in this immersive leaf peeping weekend and of course @onthelinewithangie for the incredible food!

Stretch & Sketch Workshop today with @mohare2345 I was a very happy student this afternoon. Marianne led us in an interactive workshop on neurographic art which is a technique that uses mindful scribbling and rounding to rewire the brain for calm and creativity. She led us in a floor based yoga practice for 30 minutes before we designed our own art. And we ended in meditation of course. Marianne graduated from the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training @bhaktibarnyogastudio this past Spring. This was her first (of many more I hope) Yoga and Art led workshop. Marianne you continue to inspire me! #yogaandcreativity #yogaandart #yogaandneurographicart 💗✨ by @jennyhoffmanyoga

It is time now, I said, for the deepening and quieting of the spirit among the flux of happenings. Something had pestered me so much I thought my heart would break. I mean, the mechanical part. I went down in the afternoon to the sea which held me, until I grew easy. About tomorrow, who knows anything. Except that it will be time, again, for the deepening and the quieting of the spirit. ~ Swimming, One Day in August by beloved Mary Oliver #mindfulreflection #livingyouryoga #maryoliverpoetry 🌊🌼🌞✨ by @jennyhoffmanyoga

You dont always need another optimization strategy sometimes you need to learn the skill of rest.
Rest is where recovery happens.

The 7 types of rest:
PHYSICAL- sleep, stillness, gentle yoga, mindful walk, nidra, breathwork
MENTAL - no decisions to make, meditation, silence, mindfulness
SENSORY - Quiet spaces, dim lights, digital detox, abhyanga massage
SOCIAL- alone time, time with people who support and energize you
SPIRITUAL - gratitude, connection, community, meditation
EMOTIONAL- journal, self reflection, self care
CREATIVE - nature, play, cooking, seeing beauty, art, being inspired

We are practicing all the things to rest our body, mind and soul at the Mountain Medicine Retreat.
Stowe, Vermont OCT 15-18 2026

There is an Italian saying "il dolce far niente", which literally means "the sweetness of doing nothing". We spent this past week in Italy celebrating my Mom's 80th and embracing the art of enjoying the moment and relaxing for its own sake. An unhurried approach to life. #ildolcefarniente #sweetnessofdoingnothing 🌞🌼🍋✨ by @jennyhoffmanyoga

So excited to create, share and connect at The Mountain Medicine Retreat.
We are returning to our lodge in Stowe,Vermont at peak fall foliage in October.
Retreats are Joyful. We have Fun. AND we do deep work…Ayurvedic rituals for rejuvenation, seasonal cooking classes, daily meditation and asana practice.
It’s so rare to have full days and full nights dedicated to rest, nourishment, mindful yoga practice and connection to nature but when you give yourself an opportunity to pause and create some space you will be able to experience greater presence and ease in your everyday life.
2 rooms remaining.

"The practice of yoga is to remove the weeds from the body so that the garden can grow" ~ B.K.S. Iyengar #mindfulmovement #yogaandgardens 🌻💛🌼 by @jennyhoffmanyoga

Viparita Karani aka "legs up the wall" is considered one of the most beloved restorative yoga postures. A few Mondays ago I walked into my morning class a bit early to find three of my students resting contently in this pose. Seeing the three of them quietly resting like this made my day. The great teacher Donna Farhi calls this pose "The Great Rejuvenator" and indeed it is. When I don't have much time to practice, I consistently come back to this pose. It is often compared to shoulder stand and has an amazing ability to restore balance back into the body and mind. If you are feeling tired it tends to rejuvenate you. And when you are feeling unsettled it will ground you. Spending time in this pose stimulates the parasympathetic (rest & digest) nervous system which is essential to living a vibrant life. Rest is sacred. And thank you to Buddy my favorite Yorkie in town for all the love! #viparitakarani #legsupthewall #restorativeyoga 🌷🪷🌸 by @jennyhoffmanyoga

I am truly over the moon that @onthelinewithangie will be joining us as the in house chef for our Yoga Retreat @sterlingforestlodge Angie will be preparing Ayurvedic-inspired food. Angie's meals are intentional—fresh, vibrant, and deeply nourishing. You can taste the balance in every bite, from warming spices to simple, wholesome ingredients that somehow feel both comforting and revitalizing at the same time.

Every meal will provide the unique experience of reconnecting—slowing down, being present, and really appreciating what fuels your body and mind. This is the yogic path. Join us for a 3 night Yoga & Meditation Retreat in Stowe, Vermont this October 15-18th
