If you pay attention, I could teach you something! 👨🏽‍🏫🍎 📸: @_kimon First and foremost, I want to thank @hustontillotsonuniversity for preparing me for the next chapter in my life and teaching me what it means to be confidently myself. In 2022, I transferred in from an HSI, and I didn’t know much about HBCUs nor their forever-honoring history. In my three years on campus, I learned deeply about African American culture, both locally and nationally. I now understand the importance of KNOWING what’s going on within my community, the power in supporting one another, and what it means to be a beacon for change. I also want to give a huge shoutout to the African American Male Teacher Initiative @ht.aamti for making all of this possible. Through mentorship, community service, and a scholarship that lifted a major burden, they gave me the space to breathe, focus, and grow. Thank you for putting me in a space with like-minded individuals and a support system that molded a forever brotherhood that I will always appreciate. To the staff, friends, family, and people I’ve met throughout my years of undergrad, I want to thank you for being apart of my journey and for the laughs, the serious conversations, the support, and the rare moments where we shared similar interests, shortcomings, and sources of inspiration while figuring out who we are and the impact we want to make in this lifetime. Cheers to you, cheers to a B.A. in Education, and cheers to the next chapter 🥂 by @jermaine.atx
