Been following @jenatkinhair’s journey since 2011, and even got to meet her at a Beyoncé concert in 2013.😂 So finally getting to hear her speak at Create & Cultivate felt like a slightly surreal moment. ✨ From watching her create all the iconic red carpet hair to building brands I genuinely love, she’s always been such an inspiration. Forever a fangirl and so grateful I got to be in the same room as her. 🤍 And FYI, the @mane_____ brush I’m always using is her brand. Obviously! by @jess.ladama

Chapter 10✨ A decade in, and just getting started! by @jess.ladama
LA DAMA. An ode to The Lady herself. The one who carried her career behind the chair and turned it into a legacy that lives on. I met Jessika 10 years ago after searching yelp high & low for a hairstylist when I moved to Fresno. Never could I have imagined that we would be here today. The relationship and friendship we have built throughout the years is a testament to who she is as not only a professional but as a person. Not to be too sentimental, but the amount of passion and potential she has poured into me since I was just a 19 year old wild child—I am forever grateful. She’s been around for the highest of highs and lowest of lows. She has always been the leading light for my success, truly. I think people underestimate the beauty of what’s built in the chair as a hairstylist. You really don’t know the journey that’s about to unfold when you meet someone. I hope to be half the stylist she is one day. The one that plants seeds and waters them wherever she goes—with whoever she reaches. With that being said, I’m so happy to announce that I am her new partner!!! There is no one more deserving of being able to enjoy the fruits of her labor, and I can’t wait to help her nurture her first baby and focus on enjoying this amazing brand that she has built. CHEERS TO 10 YEARS!! by @jess.ladama
First, I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who showed up this past Sunday. What a gift it was to look around and see so many people who have supported @ladamasalon throughout the years. 🤍 Hitting 10 years has had me reflect on how much life has happened how much I’ve grown, and everything it took to get here and I would be lying if I said it was always easy. One thing I’ve learned is that the good and the hard can coexist. You can be incredibly grateful and proud of what you’ve built while also admitting that some seasons have been really hard!! I’ve just tried to navigate all of it with as much grace as I can. And with that, I have to say…I’m proud. Like, VERY proud of myself. 🥹 We have made it through 10 years of business, COVID, postpartum (twice) grief, a new location, motherhood, and so many different seasons of life. I’m definitely not the same person I was when I opened these doors 10 years ago. My passion for La Dama has never changed, but my priorities have. My family is my biggest priority, and over the last year I knew something had to shift. I didn’t know exactly what that looked like, I just knew with 20 years behind the chair, and 10 years owning a salon, it was time to enjoy the fruits of my labor. For a while, I thought maybe that meant selling, but instead of walking away from something I’ve poured so much of myself into, I realized maybe I didn’t need to stop… I just needed to pivot!!✨ So with that being said, I’m SO excited to officially announce that Jordan @yourmanegirljordan is now my partner and co-owner of La Dama Salon! 🤍 More in caption👇 by @jess.ladama
