This is the power of small positive daily changes that become your lifestyle.

If you told me back in 2007 after losing literally everything about myself that I would be able to accomplish everything that I have done now, I wouldn’t believe you.

Rebuilding my health back has been the hardest thing I’ve had to do. I still live with a chronic vestibular condition, but I don’t take simple daily tasks for granted anymore. I still challenge myself with what I am able to handle, knowing my limits.

If you are at your rock bottom, if you feel like you lost a part of yourself, if you like life can’t get better. I can tell you with confidence that you can rebuild, you can get better, you can find yourself again. It starts with one small positive decision you can make right now!

Tell me you found the best work-from-home pants without telling me… 👀

I’m not one to wear sweats or pajamas while working from home. I like feeling put together enough to jump on a call, film some content, or run to the store without needing to change.

But when I’m spending hours sitting at my desk editing or scripting, comfort is also a must.

I recently picked up these wide-leg, pull-on cotton twill pants from Banana Republic Factory, and I’m loving how lightweight and comfy they are with that smart casual vibe.

They go with so many pieces I already own, and there’s enough room to move around, and apparently do a full crouch test in the middle of my day. 😂

Yup, I’m finally doing it! Baking a gluten and dairy free pie from scratch. And luckily I am tackling it with my sister who has tried this pie before.

Pie is something I have avoided for years because the crust always seemed a little tricky to get right.

I have successfully made a lot of other gluten-free and dairy-free desserts that are delicious and enjoyed by people who don’t have allergies or intolerances.

But half my family is gluten free and so I thought I would give pie a go since it’s one of the go-to desserts for family gatherings.

We did have to go to 3 different stores to get everything we needed. And some ingredients go outside of the ones I would typically buy. But I am hoping everything works out and I can make some pies for the upcoming holidays.

What do you do when loss changes your identity as a high achiever?

I never thought watching Marvel’s Doctor Strange would make me think about losing my career as a professional dancer, but as a high achiever the part that stuck with me wasn’t the superhero part.

It was watching someone lose the ability to do the one thing he’d built his entire identity around, because I know what that feels like.

Dance has been part of my life since I was four, and when vertigo hit me overnight and changed what I was physically able to do, I had no idea who I was anymore.

Not being able to separate my career that I worked so hard for from the creative person that I was outside of dance.

Finding my way into content creation and other creative work didn’t replace dance, but it helped me realize that being an artist was never limited to one way of expressing myself.

I can still miss that part of my life, and be excited about what I’m creating now. I now know who I am outside of what my job title is, and that opens up so many more doors of possibilities.

When my favourite plant-based protein powder flavours were all sold out on the Good Protein website I was kinda disappointed, cause I have a shake everyday.

But picking up a bag of a flavour I usually never try because they are never made gluten free is such a win!

Really loving the cookies and cream flavour, and now I just need to grab a big bag next time they are in stock.

If your morning self-care routine only works when you have hours to spare, it’s probably not going to be sustainable.

It’s so easy to get excited about doing everything at once (and social media kinda makes it look like you should be), but then real life happens and suddenly you’re skipping the whole routine because you don’t have time for all of it.

Instead start with one small thing that actually fits into your morning. That could look like: five minutes of stretching, drinking water before your coffee, time to journal or read a daily devotional.

Keep showing up for that one thing, and when it feels like part of your day, add something else small.

You don’t need to do everything to start making changes. Once they become a part of your daily lifestyle, that’s when you will see the change.

This is your sign to check in on your self-care, especially if you’ve been so busy working and building your dreams, that your own wellness keeps getting pushed to the bottom of your to-do list. 💛

I know we all get busy working away. I’m just as guilty, especially now that I am building my creator business. But I still gotta remind myself that self-care is just as important (and I’m sure you do too).

So if you haven’t gone for a walk, got up and moved your body in some way, gave your mind a break from whatever works got ya doing, and prepared yourself for a good night’s sleep…

Go, take 15 minutes and do it.

XO from your big sis who’s looking out for your health!

Do you do this too as someone with a food sensitivity? (This is something people who don’t have a food allergy or intolerance will understand).

Now I am happy that there are more options for us gluten and dairy challenged people out in the local grocery stores… but can we talk about the price gouging on said products!
I mean our stuff is already more costly than the “regular” stuff, so why are they doing us dirty?

But what is better spending extra at the store 5 minutes from you or driving 20 to get the same product for less? (like why is my fav GF bread almost $10 at one location, and only $8 at another?)

The oxymoron about buying the higher priced items at the local store is that, you’re telling the store you are ok spending more on products that are specialty.

But if you stop buying those products because they are priced higher than other places, will the store keep carrying them?

Decisions, decisions!!

If protein is the thing stopping you from eating more plant based foods. Then you gotta try out this viral girl lunch.

Everyone is so focused on protein these days that they forget about how important fiber is. We need our gut health people!

This jar has approximately 38g of plant protein and 27g of fiber. Plus it’s so easy and versatile. This is so yummy that it’s now on my lunch rotation.

I’ve got roughly 2 cups of green peas, ½ cup black beans, sautéed mushroom and onion, ½ cup tofu crumble ground beef style (which has nutritional yeast in it), garlic powder and salsa.

What’s in your bag?

Me: oh, just a selfie light, my Hollyland wireless lapel mic and my iPhone suction mount

I feel like I can’t go out now without these creator essentials anymore, cause like content filming can happen at any time, right!

My other creator bag essentials are:
Lip balm/gloss
Hand cream
Floss picks
Kleenex

how about you?

I don’t usually go for a lot of trends, but TikTok got this girl lunch right.

And would you believe that this plant-based version has approximately 38 g of protein and 27 g of fiber?
Plant-based eating definitely doesn’t have to be that hard, especially when you can get simple dishes like this.

Vertigo can seem kind of hopeless. Especially when you’re right in the middle of it.

If you told me 18 years ago that I would be able to shower without holding onto the wall, or lay down in bed and sleep without feeling dizzy. I would laugh and then cry because I wouldn’t believe you.

These are five things I wish I knew and tried a lot sooner, and if you are dealing with vertigo as well, I hope that they can help you too.

I have other things that I’ve tried over the last 18 years that I feel have helped me feel better. I can make a second video if you’d like to know what else has helped me on my healing journey back to health and wellness.

Let me know what things you have done that have helped you too. Anyone reading the comments will be very grateful.
