Pretty cool surprise to receive this in the mail 🙏🏽

My massage therapy business Valencia Performance Therapy was ranked #1 Massage Therapist in Dallas for July 2026 by BusinessRate, based on customer reviews, experiences, and overall reputation.

I wasn’t expecting this at all, which makes it feel even nicer.

When I started doing this, my goal was never just to give a good massage. I wanted to develop my own approach to bodywork and create an experience where people genuinely feel a difference when they leave.

Seeing that reflected in the experiences and reviews of the people I’ve worked with is the coolest and most rewarding part of this. Nothing like seeing an immediate and noticeable difference in a person when they get off the table.

Thank you to everyone who’s trusted me to work with you, supported the business, left a review, referred someone, or came back to see me again.

Pretty cool. #1 🥇

The mission to help improve lives continues! by @jessevalenciajr

Many people know me for fitness, but what they might not know is that music was my first passion before I even discovered fitness.

When I was 19, I wrote a song after my first run-in with drugs at 18. At the time, ecstasy controlled my life. That year was a blur of highs and crashes, and I remember battling the urge to go back to it, to chase that fleeting escape, even though I knew it was tearing me apart. Writing that song was my way of processing the chaos, the addiction, and the war I was fighting within myself.

Over the last 15 years, I’ve written songs inspired by nearly every emotion I’ve felt—rage, heartbreak, deep sadness, and even love. Music became my therapy in the moments when I felt lost, when words weren’t enough, and when nobody was there to listen to me.

This year, I’m making it a goal to get into the studio more. There’s so much I’ve been working on behind the scenes, and I’m excited to start sharing pieces of that with you all.

Today, I’m posting a snippet of that song I wrote at 19. It’s raw, it’s honest, and it’s a piece of my story—a reminder that even in our darkest moments, we can create something meaningful.

Thank you for being part of my journey—both in fitness and beyond.

Man, first day back in the gym after a little time off, and it feels like I never left. Sometimes life just hits you. My son got sick, I got sick, and life kept throwing things my way. Sometimes setbacks can make you lose motivation, even for the things you love most. But one thing I’ve learned through all the setbacks in my life is that they always seem to lead me somewhere better. Sometimes showing up doesn’t mean going to the gym. Sometimes it means sitting with yourself, healing mentally, emotionally, or physically, and giving yourself some space. Because even in those moments, you’re still being trained. Just in a different way. And when you do get back up, you might find yourself stronger than you were before. Just keep going. Things always work out. ❤️ by @jessevalenciajr

Massage shouldn’t feel like torture. But it shouldn’t leave you wondering if anything was accomplished, either.

At @valenciaperformancetherapy , we believe in a better approach.

Which is why I created the VPT Method…intentional, thorough bodywork combining the right pressure, detailed techniques, and guided breathing to help you get more out of every session.

And no matter who you book with, every VPT therapist is trained to the standards of the VPT Method so you can expect the same level of care, intention, and attention to detail.

One of the greatest love songs ever written.

I’ve shared this song alongside my own story of addiction, overdose, and making it to the other side…and over the years, people have shared some incredible stories with me in return.

Weddings. Lifelong love. Addiction. Loss. People who didn’t make it to the other side.

It’s reminded me just how many people are carrying stories and pain we know nothing about.

So I’ll keep singing it. ❤️

At VPT, we don’t rely on add-ons to make a massage better.

The difference is in the work.

Knowing where to apply pressure, when to pull back, how long to hold, when to incorporate breath, and how to work thoroughly from attachment to attachment.

The goal isn’t just to help you relax for an hour. It’s to help your body move, feel, and function better when you leave.

Long week? Your body might be asking for more than “just a massage.”

Repair + relaxation. That’s VPT.

Sick son at home today, but still made it to the gym.

As a dad, it’s easy to put yourself last. Your little one needs you. Life needs you. There’s always something that feels more important than taking care of yourself.

But I’ve learned that taking care of myself is part of taking care of the people who depend on me.

Some days the routine is smooth. Other days, you do what you can with what you’ve got.

Things aren’t always perfect but we keep showing up. 💪🏾

Working on some music with the man @willcarmack_vi at @fifty50studios 🎶 Always a great experience!

The way I explain it to people is this:

Lifting weights helps ground me.
Music makes me feel like I’m flying.

They each fulfill a different need and speak to a different part of my soul. Grateful I get to have both in my life. 🏋️‍♂️🎸

More pressure and pain doesn’t always mean better.

Too much pressure and your body guards. Too little and nothing changes.

At @valenciaperformancetherapy , it’s not about working harder, it’s about knowing exactly what the body needs and being thorough enough to make a difference.

Misty is a VPT Therapist, trained and certified in the VPT Method. I’m extremely particular about who works on me, and she’s someone I personally trust to massage me and take care of my clients.

Hmmmm… show in sight? 🤔 Maybe, maybe!

6+ weeks ago I tore a muscle in my finger and ended up with mallet finger. It’s affected almost everything. Bit progress doesn’t require perfect circumstances.

You adjust. You find a way. You keep showing up.

Not 100%… but still moving the needle forward. 💪🏽

Let’s see where this goes.

And eating vegan has changed my life in the most positive way! These are plant powered gains!🌱
