It is a stunning day in Portsea today! We haven’t quite boiled the kettle (just yet), but we are all set up for our open studios and artist talk today. Registration is still open - link in bio.

Starting the day with a morning beach walk is both energising and calming... After the long (dark) Melbourne winter, I am feeling very grateful for the time here @mornpenartsandculture

With the generous support of the #makingspace Moreland program, @robgale_picture_this and I have started a month-long residency @siteworks_ . We are using the space and opportunity to take time to wrangle seven years of our Old Year New project work into a book dummy!

We’ve squirrelled away a mass of trestle tables and will be sharing bits and pieces along the way, but welcome visitors to the space for cups of tea, chats and a walk through (by appointment during the week or anytime across the weekends).

We entered another snap lockdown in Melbourne today. For those keeping count, this is lockdown #5 for our wonderful city. This lockdown also means that our @counihangallery exhibition Urban Eats has closed one weekend early.

There is obviously a level of sadness in the show closing early, but a clear understanding as to why this is the best thing for us all. I am so proud of this show and feel so grateful for having had the opportunity to work with the exceptional artists and gallery team to bring it to life. So many folks have been through the space and seeing the shared posts and tags from visitors along the way has been a real joy - the arts give us so much! The other great opportunity this exhibition gave us all was a chance to connect and reconnect with friends, colleagues and family. I have lost count of the number of lovely coffee/pub catch-ups we had timed around the chance to visit the exhibition with us.

Thanks again to all that made it along to the organised artist talk and to the groups that attended talks from the Moreland Local Food Forum, @cpl_digital Digital, RMIT Library and @rmitphotography

When we can safely do so again, please keep supporting the arts. Our hearts are so full of thanks for you all!

Captivated by the most magnificent details in @missstephanieart work. Spending some time today showing folks through Urban Eats @counihangallery … come and say 👋 if you’re in the area by @jessiediblasi

Covid has (and continues to) wreak havoc across the arts. After living through four lockdowns and two postponements, it has been wonderful to see our Urban Eats exhibition open and welcoming visitors @counihangallery .
A real joy to have the chance to bring this show together alongside the work of nine exceptional artists. The exhibition is on for another two weeks, closing July 18! Gallery details linked in my bio. by @jessiediblasi

Good job, Victoria!

@robgale_picture_this and I are joint finalists in the 66th Blake Prize. Thrilled to be selected from 1200+ entries and exhibited as one of 86 finalists @casulapowerhouse ! Congratulations to all + winners @leyla_stevens @zannybegg and @eddie.abd
This photograph is from an ongoing series Rob and I have been working on that explores the history of religious festival, feasting and customs as one year ends and a new one begins. In Sin City the lure of gambling is even too much for Santa, the treasured icon of Christmas. Exhibition is on until April 11th. #blakeprize by @jessiediblasi
