I lost my cousin suddenly yesterday morning. One of the closest people to my mama and the one person on earth who looked the most like her. Devastated barely comes close. There was only just over a year between losing the two of them. I was meant to see her a month ago and plans changed. Make the call, say the thing. Make amends. We really don’t know how much time we have. This is another occasion, too many in fact, where I have not had a chance to say goodbye to a powerful woman in my life.

On today of all days; I took myself off to see a thousand-year-old tree. Strong women took refuge here according to local lore. I found this tree and its magic and energy gave me the calm and serenity I needed.

You can now rest in eternal peace, just as you deserve Jo 🪽 by @jesstcountry

Nearly 7 years ago, during one of the hardest times that we have all ever known; an incredible man reached out to me and sent these to @countryradiouk and I. I’ve never forgotten it.

He’s still the pillar of our community; he is always there grafting with his family at every single festival and always comes with a smile and a hug. His pieces are unique and beautifully crafted. He takes the energy and the magic from guitar strings and creates jewellery to be treasured for years to come. He makes practical pieces, such as hat clips, and one off intricate items.

Most excitingly; he has released his very own guitar, which is for sale to musicians across the land 🙌🏽 There ain’t no one else like Neil.

We all love you @bro_kin_strings_jewellery 🎸🫶🏽✨

The music has always loved me back 🎶

@nicoleallan95 ; the musical genius who orchestrated the entirety of @sokafest , an event in memory of her friend Sophie who was clearly a friend of the entire community and beyond. It was also Sophie’s birthday weekend ✨Nicole enlisted musicians to fill venues for the whole day across Reading town centre to raise money for @readingprideuk . She is a powerhouse. What a friend. Oh; to still be so loved and honoured ❤️‍🔥

Last night was a masterclass. We all knew every word to every one of her songs. She has created such a movement that I know will resonate with the music community in Reading and will ripple further out into the ether. We are all so proud of you, Nicole. I know you made your Sophie smile🪽🌈

Oh!! And drinks are really reasonable at @thebutlerreading 🍻✌🏽

@itsmrpauladams as a fantastic supporter and advocate for musicians. He is also a Texan 🏜️ funny and quick-witted and his clever songwriting and expert stage presence means he gets the crowd doing this…☝🏽🎤⚡️🪩

I loved catching his set at the @themarkethousereading for @sokafest where everyone on stage throughout the day donated their time for a very worthy cause 🪽🌈

@alterstatespromotions and the team never fail to put on a spectacular show at @liveatacanteen 🏜️🎶

This month saw the long awaited return of @jameswhiteandthewildfire (only three years!) and what a performance he and the boys put on! Unique, atmospheric, and simply electric⚡️more please 🙌🏽🔥

I finally got to see @shearaffmusic perform live and share just why his storytelling is renowned in the country music world. He is a seasoned pro, and his gentle yet poignant songs captivated the entire audience 💚

I love what these guys are doing for the UK music scene. If you can get to one of these events; I implore you to do so! 🎫
