We had a packed and lively cocktail class on Saturday featuring Unexpected Summer Cocktails from Beverage Director @bob_peters.

The star of the show was Hennessy Cognac, and @adrianne.n.s with Hennessy Moët was on hand to give us some history and context, then we drank!

We finished with a special treat - a taste of Hennessy XO paired with local handcrafted chocolate from @jf_chocolat. Decadent and delicious!

I recently ordered a selection of chocolates from @jf_chocolat , and every single piece was outstanding. The craftsmanship, balance, and attention to detail really came through in each bite. I’m a sucker for a good cherry cordial, and this one was hands‑down the most refined version I’ve ever tasted—bright cherry flavor, perfectly balanced sweetness, and beautifully executed chocolate. If you appreciate thoughtfully made confections, this is a chocolatier worth seeking out. Highly recommend giving them a try.

This weekend (Aug. 29-31), Charlotte will host the inaugural @nationalpastryconference at The Park Expo and Conference Center. This first-of-its-kind event is poised to bring international chefs and businesses to the Queen City, and its all thanks to Justin Fry of @jf_chocolat.

Recognizing a void in the American pastry landscape, Fry decided to combine his love for chocolate with his love for Charlotte and start #PastryCon, which he hopes will stay here in for years to come.
