TUES NOV 24 at @cassettenyc 🔥 Holly Overton and band invite you to a night of live music + Super 8mm film screening to celebrate the release of her single “Live in Fiction,” produced by Nikki Belfiglio of BODEGA! 🪐7:30 BOYCE DELLES narrative tape loop synth fuzz from Chicago! 🌕 8:10 AGUA VIVA ethereal pop with costume and movement performs her latest EP Onyx Cielo! ⭐️ 8:50 HOLLY OVERTON with band, multimedia visuals and dancer Leah Brown! 🎥 9:35 MATT MCKINZIE Super 8mm film director premieres our “Live in Fiction” music video + a selection of his short films! Dancing with sensual synth waves and guitar melodies, @hollyovertonworld’s forthcoming single “Live in Fiction,” produced by Nikki Belfiglio of @bodegabk, harkens to The Cure’s Seventeen Seconds studio album; a sonic home where Holly feels safe and exploratory. The lyrics share how inside Gothic literature and John Waters films, she found an escape from the social stigma and emotional isolation after her abortion. Window blinds are the porous barrier between fiction and reality. 📸 @neonmamacita @agua___viva is a music artist and sound bath healer based in Ridgewood, NY. She weaves galactic soundscapes with ethereal pop— an offering to the divine feminine. Her performances expand beyond sound, integrating visuals, costumes, movement and meditative passages to create an immersive experience. BOYCE DELLES aka @jim_thekid is the experimental solo project of Chicago based musician Jimmy Clarke. His debut album, Holiday Snack Cassette, is a collage of cassette recordings following a fictional character “Boyce Delles” who works at Bill’s Wrecker Service during Jeff Davis Murders in Jennings, LA. @matt.mckz is a filmmaker based in New York City. His work encompasses writing, filmmaking, curation, archival research and performance. He mostly works on Super 8mm film; think Warhol Factory meets John Waters. @everyangelis Leah Brown (sculptor/dancer) dances with Holly during “Live in Fiction”, mirroring each other through the porous barrier between fiction and reality. Boyce Delles (tape loop synth fuzz) opens the show all the way from Chicago! We close the night in the church of cinema with a screening of Matt McKinzie’s Super 8mm short films (think John Waters meets Warhol’s Factory). TICKET LINK IN BIO 💋 Holly Overton @hollyovertonworld is a music artist and painter in Brooklyn, NY. Her new single “Live in Fiction”, produced by Nikki Belfiglio (@bodegabk), dances with synthesizer waves and sensual guitar melodies. Holly says about the song, “inside Gothic literature and John Waters films, I found an escape from the social stigma and emotional isolation I experienced after my abortion.” She recently received her MFA from New York Studio School and lets her storm pass through her large abstract paintings. 📸 @neonmamacita Agua Viva @agua___viva is the musical project of Josi Arias — an Argentine musician, multidisciplinary artist, and holistic ceremony facilitator based in New York. Blending ethereal pop, experimental ambient textures, organic frequencies, and sound healing-infused techno, Agua Viva creates immersive sonic offerings devoted to the divine feminine. Her work has been featured in NPR, Stereogum, The FADER, Bandcamp Daily, and more. Alongside her music, she facilitates immersive sound healing experiences throughout NYC. Her performances extend beyond sound, integrating visuals, costumes, movement, and meditative passages to create a fully immersive universe. Boyce Delles @jim_thekid is the experimental solo project of Chicago based musician Jimmy Clarke, guitarist and lead singer of Jim the Kid and The Painkillers. Wide-eyed and longing, In The Pines creates its own sacred geometry of rock. Through unexpected collisions of psychedelia, prog rock, shoegaze, and blues, the band decorates a sprawling sonic landscape with lyrics and melodies that walk a tightrope of restless, youthful exploration and mystical profundity. Toadvine is an alt-country band out of Chicago, Illinois. Their sound is equal parts 60s-influenced garage-y indie rock and equal parts roadhouse bar country; essentially they sound kind of like if Elephant 6 held a jamboree at the Grand Ole Opry. Boyce Delles, Jim The Kid’s alter ego, is a collage performance driven by drum machines, over driven synth lines and cassette demos. All of which are backed by a stack of CRT tv’s that have been converted into oscilloscopes. by @jim_thekid

“Curses In Braille,” the first single off of my next EP titled The Filths, will be released on Friday July 25th by Rita’s Record Collection (More on the entire EP later) This song was inspired by Fernanda Melchor’s Hurricane Season and will be accompanied by a music video of us eating pie…….unlike the song’s tie to something meaningful and terrifying, the music video doesn’t have anything to do with……anything. Here are some blurry screen shots of the music video. Also on July 25th, I will be throwing myself a release party at Pizza Lobo in Logan Square. They however, don’t know anything about it, so we won’t actually be able to listen to the song or watch the music video. We will however be able to act important and I’ll be signing hormel canned products and passing out free colored pencils. See you in two weeks and more about the actual people behind this project this coming week. by @jim_thekid
