The Glow of a Fire

In the frozen wilds, fire is everything. Light. Warmth. Safety.

This build is the combination of many of my recent interests, brick build lighting, old paintings, composition and values, rare Lego colors, and night scenes :)

This is the scene I initially imagined when working on this build...now here thanks to 16 hours of photoshop!

Check out the high resolution version on my flickr :) by @jimbaggins.art

A few builds I haven’t posted on instagram, some new and some old. Had to salvage some funky photos :P (I stole this idea from danthefan)

Expanded vignette version of my Robin Hood heist build.

It was fun continuing to work on this build and mess with metallic parts and modulex, especially the columns and the curved border.

Cottage I built for the 2025 RebelLUG Castle colab at BWC 2025.

I love the color palette and tile roof, I'll definitely have to use those techniques again in a future build :)

Terrain is by Ryan, with Nannan and Daniels sections also visible. Full build posted by @jako_of_nerogue

Moon scene and neo-classic 918 space transport built for an ideas contest summer 2022. Probably my first decent moc lol

Aspens
One of my early experiments with modulex trees :) I still need to use them in a full moc.
Inspired by the beautiful build “And She Followed” by @made.by.jonah

Bristlecone Pine
Just a funky tree, that’s all.
Inspired by the insectoids legs, old greys are the best tree colors

The Phony King

My first Disney Robin Hood build, for Summer Joust 2023

Techniques definitely don’t meet my current standards, but I still like it :P

My first Disney Robin Hood build, for Summer Joust 2023

Techniques definitely don’t meet my current standards, but I still like it :P by @jimbaggins.art

To hang above the clouds, to drift through the endless skies -- that is a life I will cherish.

The ship is based on the flying tugboat Minecraft build by BdoubleO100, a fantastic builder who has been a huge influence on my design process and aesthetic. :) Also based on the beautiful Mileships art by @ianmcque, a beautiful and inspiring world.

I originally made this build in spring 2024, but I recently came back to refine the editing into something more fitting.

In the frozen wilds, fire is everything. Light, Warmth. Comfort.

My build for the Frozen Fantasy category of Summer Joust.

Inspired by the first few chapters of White Fang (highly recommend), along with old landscape paintings.

It was fun fully committing to brick built lighting and gradients throughout the entire build by @jimbaggins.art

Purple dreams

My entry for the no bley category of Summer Joust 2026.

I loved building something more colorful/whimsical than usual. It was fun working with my tiny collection of purple/lavender parts and incorporating unusual colors :) by @jimbaggins.art

My build for the small castle challenge, along with the No Bley Summer Joust category

The castle is a bit smaller than a 4x4 plate, made primarily with modulex window parts and mx slopes.
My addiction to modulex and antlers will never falter :))

The Cavern

Steve descends deep into the caverns of the overworld, searching for ores and adventure...

Inspired by the minecraft builds of @cheeseystudios and @edge_of_bricks but with a new approach to many of the blocks and techniques :)

This is the ninth build in the BobaLUG Video Game Collab which was displayed at Brickworld Chicago 2026! Built by @jimbagginslego by @jimbaggins.art

As the Greedy Prince John and his advisor Sir Hiss slept soundly, relishing their gold and power, the brave outlaw Robin Hood snuck into their bedroom to steal and give back all of their ill-gotten wealth.

Bag after bag was tied up and stolen away, but Robin would not be content until every last spoiled bag of gold went back to their rightful owners. Slowly and carefully, he pulls the last bags out of Prince John’s embrace, beginning to stir him awake…

My Brickscalibur entry for Heist of the Century with @tylar_lego

It was super fun working on a colab, and doing another build based on the animated Robin Hood.
I had a great time working on this build, it was super cool continuing to explore brick built shadows, along with using a bunch of the metallic parts, modluex, and other fun colors I’ve been collecting. :) by @jimbaggins.art

A small bonsai pine tree built from Lego

30-40% "illegal" techniques especially with the antlers, but it's slightly sturdier than it looks 😆

I got to go back home from University over the weekend and was able to spend 4-6 hrs building and put this together. Therefore please excuse some of the jank and the lazy pot 😅

Thanks to @goatman461 for coming up with many of these antler connection techniques, his tree inspired me to try one using just antlers for foliage.

I used some unique techniques for my realistic pine tree MOC, so I thought I'd make a tutorial/technique breakdown for anyone interested in doing something similar.

Hope you guys find this useful and are maybe inspired to build someone similar :)

I've always loved pine trees, but most Lego ones never look quite right.

This is a MOC I've been wanting to make for 6 months, ever since I saw the green antlers on the Lugbulk list.

Don't worry, 80% of the antlers are connected ;D

After Months of searching, the Wizard Dumisa had finally discovered the ancient temple. As the grass gently rippled behind him, he prepared to descend down the dark staircase.

My entry to the Stairway Tales category of The Summer Joust

I’m really happy with the brick built lighting, I definitely want to keep playing with that in the future.

Probably 80-100 hours of work total, but I had a lot of fun!
