Still not done with photos from Scotland. These were taken in Dean village. Super cool little area that looks like it’s been stuck in time. by @jjp.jpg
Shot my first wedding yesterday and it could not have been any better! It was such a great day capturing this couples special moment! You probably can’t tell by the picture, but I was hot, sweaty, tired, and sore… but I was loving every second of it. Excited to share the final photos on here! Thanks to @sean.macintosh for another great photo! 📸 #photographer #weddingphotography #ottawaweddingphotographer #ottawawedding #ottawaphotography by @jjp.jpg
The loneliest house in the world, and the waterfall that is up above it. Taken in the Scottish highlands. So cool too see how the height difference affects the visibility. by @jjp.jpg
Lighting test: self portrait Working with double strobe. One as key, one as subtle fill. Goal is to make it looking like only one light. #OttawaPhotographer #selfportrait #ottawaphotography #ottawastudio #neewer by @jjp.jpg

Two years ago I signed a lease on a studio space with a lot of nerve and big hopes. I had some clients and some consistent work but little to no safety net. Regardless, I had good number of people in my life who supported me and saw the vision. And I am forever grateful for these people. So here we are. Two years in, and this little studio has held portrait sessions, editorial shoots, branding days, headshot marathons, midnight editing sessions and more cups of coffee with people who just wanted to stop by and see the space than I could possibly count. Some of those coffee visits turned into clients. Some turned into friends. A lot of them turned into both. I want to say thank you. To everyone who booked a session and trusted me with your image, your brand, your face, your story, Thank You. To everyone who showed up just to see what I was building, sat in front of my camera while I tinkered with lights, asked questions, gave me feedback on a set or a prop or an idea I was still chewing on, Thank You. That kind of support does not show up on an invoice but it is the reason this place still has the lights on. And to the people who doubted it, who told me I was crazy to take on a brick and mortar, or to try and go full time photography. Respectfully. You were wrong. This industry does not owe anyone a living, and there was no guarantee any of this would work. But Jennings photography still has a sign on the door. Two years down. Still building, still shooting, still figuring a lot of it out as I go. If you have never stopped by the studio, the door is open and the coffee is usually on. Thank you for being part of the first two years, here is to the next ones. John by @jjp.jpg
Here is the last run of BTS images from our "Grief is Forever" photo shoot taken by the very awesome @jjp.jpg Our plan is to continue showcasing the images in a number of public formats over the next year with a possible expansion of the project to include a strictly documentary component. This chapter of the project will invite others who experienced a hard goodbye during the pandemic to share their story through photo/voice. Please follow along as we carry the project forward into new and interesting places.
