Just a fun edit on a previous Nighthawk catch.

Spooky Spirits. At 172 feet wide, the B-2 Spirit has been hunting and haunting America's enemies since its first flight way back in 1989. Hard to believe something from the end of the Cold War Era still looks futuristic today.

Perhaps no other jet has mystified the masses and earned so many nicknames along the way:
The Wobblin' Goblin, The Hopeless Diamond, The Black Jet, The Asset & The Facet, The Cockroach and The Stinkbug...

The F-117 Nighthawk is the World's first operational aircraft designed specifically around stealth technology. While most of the fleet was retired in 2008, there's still a few airframes that have remained active for limited testing and training roles. With its unique shape and sharp angles, there's nothing else quite like it in the skies today... catching one of the remaining flying examples is the Holy Grail for many aviation enthusiasts.

Extremely grateful for the fine folks at Northrop and the United States Air Force. The future of our Nation is in great hands. This right here is what Global Air Superiority looks like.

Huge thank you, this is just too cool- probably the coolest thing I've ever received. This is an original 8x10 photograph, dated September 19, 1948, of a YB-49 Flying Wing in flight. The YB-49 was an 8 engine, 32,000 horsepower monster. Seeing a flying wing today is awe-inspiring, could you imagine seeing one in 1948?!?! Just wild.

This same year, Captain Glen Edwards and 4 crew members would perish in a YB-49 crash just north of Muroc Air Force Base, which was then permanently renamed to Edwards Air Force Base in his honor. Today, you can still visit the location of that mishap which has a nice memorial erected in their honor.

I've included a video clip of the YB-49 for those that are unfamiliar with it from the YouTube Channel "Classic Airliners and Vintage Pop Culture" by user McDonnell220, check his channel out for more videos like this one 🤙
