Chevy Impala on film I believe it’s a 1969 but let me know if I’m wrong. Don’t understand it but love that the sign on the post says Mister Grumpy (maybe it’s Gumpy? But still). My grandma has two of these in her garage (both 1966). My dad offered one up as my first car but I told him no at the time bc it used too much gas and it wasn’t safe without seatbelts 🫠🤦🏽‍♀️. Wonder if you can turn these electric… 📷 canon ae-1 🎞️ kodak ultramax 400 🧪 @bellowsfilmlab by @jo.jay.studio

Saint Paul de Vence - France 📷 sony a7iii May 2024 by @jo.jay.studio
Our little place where we stayed, @number_5_saint_paul, was right behind this iconic corner in Saint Paul de Vence. 📷 sony a7iii May 2024 by @jo.jay.studio
Story behind the photo - Saint Paul de Vence was the town where James Baldwin lived for the last 17 years of his life. It’s where he wrote If Beale Street Could Talk (along with 3 additional books and 4 works/essays) and where he hosted greats like Miles Davis, Nina Simone, Ray Charles, Maya Angelou, Harry Belafonte, Josephine Baker, Marlon Brando, Toni Morrison and Ella Fitzgerald. We were walking down the hill to eat lunch and I stopped to take this photo. I had the strangest feeling come over me, “this is exactly where he lived.” Once we got back from our lunch I looked up where James Baldwin’s house used to be and sure enough, where I was standing, if you turned around that is where his house used to be. There was a legal issue and it was said he was in the process of buying the house at the time of his death, he was a very dear friend of the land lady and she had given him the house. After Baldwin’s death, there was hope that the historic home could be preserved and turned into a writers colony, residency and cultural center. Unfortunately the house was torn down in 2017 and replaced by two luxury hotels. 📷 Sony a7iii May 2024 by @jo.jay.studio
Such a beautiful patio with stunning views. The food was suburb and everyone was so friendly. We enjoyed it so much we went twice. 📷 sony a7iii May 2024 #provence #southoffrance #cotedazurfrance #frenchriviera saintpauldevencerestaurant by @jo.jay.studio
While staying in Saint Paul de Vence we had the sweetest, most beautiful neighbor, Mouna. She wore these gorgeous, colorful dresses and was always smiling and so welcoming. I loved being able to say hello and feel like a local by using my limited French (bon jour, merci, au revoir are about the extent for me, thank goodness my husband is semi fluent in French). Luckily for me, Mouna’s English was amazing, she learned by watching American tv shows. Her partner, he was just as kind, was a former pastry chef (still bakes of course) and worked at an organic farm, they would bring us beautiful fresh produce. 📷 sony a7iii May 2024 #provence #southoffrance #cotedazurfrance #frenchriviera by @jo.jay.studio
