Here's a preview of Daki & Gyutaro!! 💖💚I knew I wanted to make a reel using this audio, but far out man, editing reels is actually so stressful lol. I don't know how you guys do it. Im going to go back to my basic timelapse videos after this 😅 - - - - - - #embroidery #embroideryart #embroideryanime #animeembroidery #bordado #handmade #demonslayer #demonslayerkimetsunoyaiba #daki #gyutaro by @jo.lifethread
TADAAAA here’s my skin timelapse! You guys probably wanted his arm/hand but during the editing, I realised that I wasn’t filming myself stitch the last 4 shades loool 💀 I’ve mention this in my previous stories, but if anyone was curious, I bought these threads from Alieexpress from a shop called ‘Suzhou embroidery store’. Again, they’re pretty pricey so think twice before buying (i didn’t, since I only have 1 braincell and it’s reserved to memorising my credit card number 💀🤡💀) - - - - - #embroidery #embrodieryart #handmade #manga #mangaembroidery #anime #animeembroidery #demonslayer #kimetsunoyaiba #demonslayerkimetsunoyaiba #uppermoon #kokushibo #kokushibou by @jo.lifethread
I wanted to see how long it takes for me to stitch 1 eye (without any distractions) and it took me an hour… 1 hour for an eyeball that’s only 5cm small…and I’ve got 16 eyeballs left………… totally fine 🤡 Really questioning my sanity rn though. Anyways, I realised I haven’t made a reel in a while so I decided to make a timelapse of my struggle. Enjoy my suffering 🥰 - - - - - #embroidery #embroideryart #handmade #bordados #manga #mangaembroidery #anime #animeembroidery #demonslayer #kimetsunoyaiba #KNY #demonslayerkimetsunoyaiba #uppermoon #kokushibou #michikatsu #michikatsutsugikuni by @jo.lifethread
HEREEE’S THORKELL!!!! This dude has been in the wip for MONTHS and I’m so glad this hoop is all done and dusted bc my embroidery burnout took a huge nose dive in the process 🫠 Everything about this hoop; the watercolour, silk, the speech bubble, the belt, they were all so much fun to do, EXCEPT the motherfuccc LINEWORK. BROTHEERRRrrRRRrrrr. If you’ve read the manga then you’d be familiar with Yukimura’s way of using crosshatching for his shadework. I’m truly cursing past Jo for thinking that 👏🏼FREE👏🏼HANDING👏🏼 the linework was going to be easy. I had stitched Thorkells skin colour first, thinking that I would still partially see the printed linework on the fabric from underneath the silk. A big FAT WHOPPING WROOOONG. Your girl was stitch stressing the lines, with tears in her eyes 🥲 My first and VERY last coloured Vinland Saga hoop I’ll ever make tata 🫶🏼 - thread: filament silk thread - linework: Pipers Silks (2/20 fine twisted silk) - belt & buckle: CharleneluDesign (Etsy store) #vinlandsaga #thorkell #manga #anime #mangaembroidery #animeembroidery #embroidery #stitching #silk #silkthread #handmade by @jo.lifethread
JJK Cover Collab - Volume 10 Always wanted to stitch a JJK piece, so what better way to get a feel of stitching the art, than to join a JJK collab!!! Back at it again with another 3D embroidery but using a 3D shadowbox frame! I was inspired by the drawing composition of the volume, so I wanted to manipulate that art style by doing a 3 tier layered design. Yep, 3 motherfff layers 🙃 Thats why theres been a lack of content from me lately lmao; I basically stitched 3 hoops 💀 Though it took a long while to complete, I loved the stitching experience! I got to practice my blending and use colours that I never tried before! Especially loved using the muted green tones! 💚 A massive shoutout & thank you to @linasstitchingstudio for inviting me to this collab and @mo.embroiders for creating our teaser reel 🫶🏼Pretty please with a cherry on top, check out everyone elses work! 🎀 Zenko, Sumiko & Imoko 🎀 May I present to you the most BEAUTIFUL BBGIRLS you ever laid your eyes upon This was actually meant to be a quick black&white hoop, but clearly the world had other plans for me. I wasn’t satisfied with the simple linework so I painted them in and stitched in their hair 😂 Hope you love them! 🫶🏼 - - - - #embroidery #embroideryart #handmade #manga #mangaembroidery #anime #animeembroidery #demonslayer #kimetsunoyaiba #kny #tanjiro #zenitsu #inosuke by @jo.lifethread
DOROHEDORO - Shin 🔨 I've been working on Shin for the past 3 months and today IS👏🏼THE👏🏼DAY where I can FINALLY say that I've completely finished him. He is now proudly hanging up on my wall 🥹 If you guys didn't know, I absolutely LOVE Dorohedoro. I was about to stitch a typical manga panel of Shin, but when I stumbled upon this illustration of him from Q Hayashida's official artbook, I just had to stitch it. Like ASDFGJK LOOK AT HIM??!?? how can you NOT??? 😩 I will point out though that I def struggled more than usual 🫠 If you know me I LOVE stitching in details, but making it look intentionally MESSY was freaking HARD. I had to repeatedly tell myself to 'trust the process' despite it looking like an entire mess lmao Anyways, I hope you guys like him! Def recommend watch/reading Dorohedoro if you haven't already! 🫶🏼 by @jo.lifethread
🏹 Thorfinn Karlsefni 🏹 Vinland Saga chapter 54 - End of the Prologue I read the manga before watching the anime and my god, I have never read anything so fast 😅 The storyline, the character development, THE ART! Almost every page is a work of art I know there were so many amazing moments/panels to choose from, but it was this one that sent CHILLS down my spine. I won't spoil anything but holy shiiii- the entire chapter sequence leading up to this moment in the panel was RIVETING. I was so engrossed with all the action that when I flipped the page and saw Thorfinn's expression, I was actually startled. Such a striking scene, one that I think ill keep thinking of 💭 Also, big shoutout to @senpaistitching_ for her amazing turkey stich tutorial!❤️ I've wanted to try out turkey stitch ever since I read her her blog on it, and thought Id try it out on the fur lining of his hood. I'm OBSESSED with the way it turned out!! I used synthetic silk thread, made some small couch stitches so they'd lay flat and put my amatuer hair cutting skills to use lol 😂 Anyways, hope you like him! I don't see much Vinland Saga content here, so if you haven't read/watched it yet, do me a favour and do it NOWWWWWW. kthxbye. by @jo.lifethread
Shingeki No Kyojin volume 26 chapter 105 - Assassin's Bullet I wasn't planning on doing anymore AOT hoops this year, but I had this manga panel of Armin for the LONGESSST time, I just HAD to stitch him. It's been well over 6 months since my last B&W hoop, so I was an absolute nervous WRECK stitching him. Good thing about stitching manga panels though is that you don't have to be neat 😂 If you guys didn't know, I freaking love stitching hair. LOVE it so so much that I actually went a tad bit overboard with Armin's eyebrows and hair (I'll tone it down for my next hoop dont worry lmao) Hope you guys like him as much as I do. My theme for the next 2 hoops is BLOND HAIREDDD bois lol goodbye (actually not kidding abt the blond part 👀) - thread: filament silk thread (split into 1/4, 1/8, or 1/16 strand) - fabric: 2 layers of 100% cotton calico fabric - grey shading: tombow markers & printer ink 🤣 - stitches: split (back) stitch, backstitch & satin stitch by @jo.lifethread
I was about to post Armin but remembered I never posted final shots of my BOTW tapestry whoopsiesss lmao 🙃 so TADA HERE IT IS For my cross stitchers, there are 2 patterns I used; a free pattern made by u/frnkiequinn on Reddit and one made by Craftgurumi that you can find on Etsy! Cross stitching this was what kept me SANE the past 2 years, especially during the COVID lockdown (my state had a 9pm curfew lol don't even ask). It was also around this time I rekindled my love for reading manga/watching anime, so I have very fond memories while I look back at some of the WIP shots I took. I didn't time myself unfortunately, but I do know that 1 Guardian took me an hour to stitch and theres 280 of them. So I can definitely say that it took more than >280hrs 😅 It’s also my biggest piece too measuring at 40x22 inches!!! With all that being said, I think this will be the last cross stitch project that I'll ever do (indefinitely). Its been a good 3 year run with cross stitching, but for now, I'd like to focus solely on improving my embroidery skills without feeling guilty of abandoning any cross stitch projects that I might I have been working on. Anyways hope you guys like it 💓 by @jo.lifethread
After exactly 2 years and 4 days, I can proudly say that I have FINALLY finished my biggest project, the BOTW tapestry cross stitch! I’m so happy but lowkey sad at the same time 😭❤️ Going to upload some final shots in the next few days! If the audio is out of sync with the video pls ignore it; apparently insta likes to torment me by delaying the audio with vids longer than 1 minute (like i don’t already suffer enough from editing 🤡) - - - - - #crossstitch #crossstitching #crossstitchersofinstagram #embroidery #legendofzelda #breathofthewild #botw #botwtapestry #zelda #link #nintendo #nintendoswitch by @jo.lifethread
Volume 21 - Tamayo & Yushiro Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba This was my FIRST ever collab and I'm so honoured to have worked with all these amazing artists! 💖 A huge MASSIVE shoutout to @linasstitchingstudio for such an incredible collab idea and @heartfeltloves for creating amazing reels for us! You guys... I genuinely thought that this volume cover was going to be easy to stitch lol. It wasn't until I started drawing the lineart that I started to really notice Tamayo's kimono; THERE WERE SO MANY DAMN COLOURS AGAIN and not the mention the pattern on it too! 🥲 All in all though, I’m pretty proud of these two 🥰 Be sure to check out everyone else's pieces! They are all so incredible and unique!
