Side quested for the last 8 weeks to pick up a medium I have always secretly coveted - oil painting! And it was every bit as frustrating and fulfilling as I had expected. I finally know the true meaning of the expression “it’s like watching paint dry” (but in actuality I find the activity pretty entertaining)! Through the richness of endless hues, values and experimentations I’ve had to face many parts of myself head-on. Aligning my creative ambition with my technical ability, nurturing my patience, learning when to curb my stubbornness and when to let it take the reins, and challenging my waning attention to detail every step of the way. But most of all, I have gained a new appreciation for the visual feast that surrounds us every moment of every day. How light touches a leaf, how to construct the perfect shade of sky blue; I could spend hours mixing the pigments and never get right what nature had all along. It gives my attention and appreciation another level of depth and a new lens through which to see the world, which is always helpful when life gets hard. Proud of how hard I locked in, and still can’t believe how far it took me. This is your reminder to do the thing always, and have fun doing it 💪 感謝我的固執，我的瘋癲幫我換上新的眼睛看著世界。生活真美妙 🌸🏕️ 1 - Noodles in Dali, 2025/2026 2 - Val’s children (except Jelly) @val.tan 3 - Study of cats/symmetry 4 - Brighton Beach, Melbourne 2024 5 - Mother’s Day 6 - Study of Trees 7 - Colour Study 8 - Study of Shadows/B&W by @jocellekoh
PSA🚨🔔 The fluffle podcast returns for season 2!!! In season 1 of the fluffle pod, we invited listeners to enter the ladies room with some of the most dynamic womxn in the Asian music scene at the moment. They told their stories openly, vulnerably, and without hesitation, and you listened; with open hearts, minds and ears. Thank you for listening 🩷 As for season 2, we wanted to go further than we’ve ever gone before. Not just in asking our guests to dig deep, but encouraging OURSELVES to dig deep. To explore the corners of ourselves that are precious to us, but perhaps have been gathering dust for some time. Season 2 is all about encouraging one another to let our most curious selves lead, to take action, and to GROW; for each time we as womxn act on our curiosities and passions, we challenge the limits of who we should be, have to be, were made to be. And THAT, we consider an act of activism in and of itself. On the first episode of the new season, host @jocellekoh walks the talk and is interviewed by dear friend and Asian-Australian radio host, DJ and artist manager @smallfryhq . They get personal about Jocelle’s experiences which have encouraged her to draw on her inner strength to overcome numerous odds and pursue her passions her way. Don’t miss this flipped-script chat! All this could not have been possible without the support of @tunecore , who have time and again walked the talk in their dedication to supporting diversity in the music industry. We appreciate you so much! And special shoutout to our dream team @smallfryhq and @angel6shan who have created the music beautiful listening and visual experiences a gal could ask for, as well as @figwoop for allowing us to use her banger “solo dates”, one of our fave songs from her discography✨ Please go stream our latest conversation on @spotifyasia or @applemusic , leave us a review or save the episode, and let’s explore our most curious selves together 🐰💜 by @jocellekoh
If you think I’m hectic, meet my bestie Clare. An ambitious, hardworking, unhinged, genius ENT surgeon and dedicated foodie who deserves a fun day out more than anyone I know 🩵 Happy birthday bestie!!! Seeing @hilaryduff live with your bff is truly what dreams are made of ✨ by @jocellekoh
Melbourne dump 🩵 Just an OG fan from circa 2019 finally seeing @oliviadeano live! peak princess mode activated @nothappy_jan (after the show) : so… is Olivia Dean like your favourite artist? 3rd Half marathon completed at @melbmara but shame on marathon organisers for shoddy organisation this year that put the health of half marathoners at risk and generally made me feel shit about myself and everything I did to get myself to this point. Running marathons for me have always been about celebrating diversity, inclusiveness and sustainable pace, never about the PBs and adrenaline rush, but the messaging and organisation of this year’s marathon showed otherwise. Would think twice about doing it again Woof! 🌈 💚 After a bloated Costco run @nothappy_jan never again A piece that really spoke to me by #ebonybell @smallfryhq 🎀🎀🎀 @snackswithyeo both pen and cat are well used!!! Taiwanese-Canadian singer-songwriter and content creator Ariel Tsai @ariel_tsai is one of the most hardworking people I know. Getting her start live-streaming and singing Mandopop songs at 5am in the morning from Canada while pursuing a degree in pharmacy, she has successfully pivoted into a shining star on the Mandopop scene today with her ear catching ballads and kind, positive spirit. We talked about mental health, her work ethic, and the importance of personal growth to this self-starter that never stops learning. A huge welcome to Ariel to the fluffle podcast!
