A few photos from the new menu for @leverettlounge. It was a privilege to get to capture some beautiful images to go along with the lovely drinks and dishes themselves. The real stuff has to be experienced in person, but maybe this will get your mouth watering. by @joeltimothy.co

Sometimes color isn't necessary. Usually, all that's needed is trust. by @joeltimothy.co

From that time I unexpectedly ran into John Lennon at the park. It seems he's actually alive ... and getting younger. by @joeltimothy.co

The Thackers, Pt. 3 / Honestly I wanted a reason to share this first photo (and the others, of course), and since I do this for a living, I suppose that's reason enough to post. So grateful to be trusted to capture these sorts of moments for people. by @joeltimothy.co

The Thackers, Pt. 2 / What an honor to photograph people in love, to be trusted with such an intimate and special day as this. Thank you, my friends. by @joeltimothy.co

The Thackers: Kas, Justin, & of course Bean. Established in 2026. by @joeltimothy.co

Photography is, as I’m finding more and more, a gateway into so many experiences beyond simply capturing an image. At base, it means documenting something — but the something itself, that’s the profound bit. From people in love to instruments crafted by hand over months, to food from the farm to the table laid out like a work of art, getting to see these things, not just through a camera, but in real life, is a privilege that I know I take for granted all too often. So here’s to paying attention, and remembering to live those moments I memorialize in light, whatever they may be.

A big thank you to @scotti_moody_media for letting me witness and participate in her process, and the lovely and generous folks at @rynbentonville for giving me a front-row seat to their beautiful craft for a short time. I look forward to the day I get to experience more than that small glimpse into the something that they create. by @joeltimothy.co

When I photographed this wedding I wasn’t really using social media much, so I’d forgotten to share images from it. But I think these are worth sharing.

I don’t have very much to say about these photos, at least not at this moment. I think they speak well enough for themselves. A little bit of colour, at the beginning and the end, and a lot of simple compositions in shadow and light; a record of a day when two became one, and love was put on display for their friends and family to see. To get to look through these photos, and witness these moments again, is an honour that I hope I’ll never take for granted. What a privilege it is, to document such love.

Congratulations, my friends. by @joeltimothy.co

We climbed a green mountain that day, simply so that we could stand atop it, and trek back down. And it was worth it.

Most of us probably don’t get enough green in our lives in the course of our days. Not enough soft grass, or swaying leaves on the branches of trees. When it is there to be seen, do we notice it?

It’s hard not to take note in certain places. Iceland in summertime is one of those places, where the grass feels like it wants you to fall asleep in its arms. So here are some green photos that remind me of what it was like to be there, and to give you something beautiful to think on until I have some photos from my most recent trip to share with you. by @joeltimothy.co

Some days I feel restless. Some days I get up and make a coffee, sit down outside and listen to the wind blow, and try to squeeze a few coherent sentences out of my fresh foggy mind in order to tell God how I’m feeling, or how grateful I am, and ask His help with this or that problem, and I feel hardly capable of finishing a single thought, and I feel like I ought to simply do. Yet some days I notice the quiet, and how simple life is in the ordinariness of it, and I give thanks. And those days, that is enough.

Traveling, at its best, gives me opportunities for reflection like that, time to meditate on the simple goodness of life. Slow moments of rest in places unknown are somehow more poignant than times of quiet where I’m used to the bustle of busy life and the productivity of work. Which makes me think I ought to make more time for travel — prioritize breaking my routine and forcing myself to remember what the good life is.

So here are a handful of photos from another part of the world, glimpses of everyday moments that are easy to overlook, but so good to remember. by @joeltimothy.co

I'm looking forward to being back in this place, where the magic seems so thick you can eat it by spoonfuls and watch it drip like honey. The PNW is a big beautiful reminder of how small I am in myself, and how big my God is. Even though I won't be there with these wonderful friends this time, I look forward to listening to the waves and the mountain air with my Lord by my side, and watching Him move in the shadows and sunshine of those western mountains.

If you’re in the #SanDiego area the week of September 7th and needing some photos, hit me up. On the 12th and 13th I’ll be in the #PNW, so if you’re there, I’d love to make something with you in the short time I have.

See you soon, West Coast. by @joeltimothy.co
