Not much to say…
Made it all the way to the semi final and then while battling to qualify for the final, I fully stopped on the third reach due to lack of wind… then ended up 3rd at the b final which puts me in 11th place for now.

Tomorrow is the last day and I’m hoping for some good conditions so I can give it all!!!

What an event… 5th🤘🏽

My best ever result on the @pwaworldtour and that’s only the beginning! I managed to stay pretty consistent in most of the races and thats what gave me the top 5 result. All eyes now on Japan where I’m aiming to improve my position even more! See you there🤘🏽

Top 5 at the PWA World Cup Sylt 🔥

John Soukos finishes 5th overall in Foil Slalom on Sylt, behind Matteo Iachino, Fabian Wolf, Amado Vrieswijk and Pierre Mortefon.

He was in the mix from day one, with a 4th, a 5th and a 7th in the first three eliminations, and he held his ground against the best foil slalom riders in the world all the way to the last race.

Huge result, John 🇬🇷

Strong finish for the team today @windsurfworldcup with @pierremortefon winning the last race of the event to show what he and the boards can do. 4th overall for the week, time to regroup and prepare to make an impact in Japan in several weeks 💪.

Huge congrats @john_soukos for his best ever @pwaworldtour event result! Finishing 4th today to lock in the Top 5, which at this level is a top achievement for the 22-year old up and coming talent. Showing world class skills all week especially at the marks, one to watch out for moving forward 🤙.

FRA-14 quote: “For sure I was coming with bigger hopes but this is racing - Sylt is a special event, long with variable conditions. I was well prepared but I made a few mistakes and some decisions were a bit special. But really happy to finish the event strongly with a bullet win in the last race, my gear was working well and giving me some answers and motivation for Japan.”

GRE-198 quote: “Really happy with my first ever Top 5 result in the PWA! I had some ups and downs during the event, my setup was performing good the board is sweet and I managed to stay consistent and defend my 5th position! Now all eyes are on Japan, to fight for the podium!”

John Soukos. Benoit Merceur. Noah Vinther. Hugo Sjoberg. Sem Stroosma.

Remember these names - these guys are the future of foiling 🔥

Leading a hungry pack of young riders, these five guys are all inside the top 15 in the rankings and causing some big upsets in the winners finals this week! They’re part of the next generation of riders coming through in the foil that, aside from Benoit, are completely focussing on foiling and proving that putting the work in gets the results 🔥

How long will it be before they’re winning finals and challenging for podiums? Hugo has come the closest with a 2nd place in elimination 5, but can any of them break through and seal their first bullet?

Tune in to the livestream on pwaworldtour.com from midday tomorrow to find out.
