The origin of the name Johnny Nails... finally on record. Check out our full interview with Ryan Leyva, AKA Johnny Nails, this Wednesday, November 4th. by @johnnynails
I, along with some of the best and brightest stars on this planet, had the opportunity to create this soundtrack for this awesome video game. We laughed, we worked, we slayed, and it came out great IMO. The game rules! It has incredible artwork and gameplay. Plus it makes me laugh a lot. Bonus. Can you tell which songs I sing on? And which songs I play drums on? And which songs I play guitar on (I think all for guitar…?!) I hope to assemble this team again someday. Thank you to Jamie @playonemoregame and crew for having us! If you’re a Grammy voter then thank you for your consideration! by @johnnynails

Late last fall, my dear friends Skyler and Tracey Levine approached me about creating music for WHERE WE MEET, a dance production telling the stories of the women at Healing Housing. Healing Housing works with women recovering from addiction and homelessness and provides them with comprehensive support to build a healthy, independent life. They had brought in Rebekah Barger and her aerial dance company FALL to create and direct and choreograph this production. We have been working together throughout the year, and this last weekend, it culminated in 3 shows at Oz Arts here in Nashville. I am truly honored to have been able to take part in this, and the show was so fantastic. Major congratulations to Rebekah, Skyler, Tracey, and FALL. Today, I’m releasing the music from the show Where We Meet. Im truly grateful to have such good friends and collaborators in Gideon Klein, Johnny Nails, and David Linaburg. Gideon played an inordinate amount of instruments on all the songs, arranging all the strings on the album he played as well. David played acoustic guitar on Through the Looking Glass, and allowed me to borrow the Imperiale vintage pump organ that became the sonic signature of this album. Johnny Nails mixed and mastered the album, and acted as musical therapist with a constant barrage of texts and calls. There were several previously released songs in the show as well, including 2 that Kris Karlsson and I created together and released on our last album. This was my first time writing music for an entire dance show and I couldn’t have done this without these collaborations, musical and otherwise. Thank you Healing House for putting your trust in me, mazel for an incredible show. I hope you all take a look at the incredible work Healing Housing is doing here in Nashville. Album is available everywhere now. Link in bio. The Imperiale Opening Night Gideons workspace Gideon plays the cello. Very well. What if the @ginuwine RnB classic #pony was written by #deftones … or what if #aliceinchains wrote it in a condemned Lake City strip club in 1993? Imagine no more: the world debut of our cover of “Pony” will be MONDAY 5/4. Nothing expands your sense of community quite like touring, and it still warms my heart to see familiar, friendly faces on the road after all these years. I feel EXTRA lucky to head out with my dear friend Alessandra Rose of AROE, a very new and very cool band full of Northwest homies. This run is only a week long, but it’s already shaping up to be an all-timer. Tickets on sale this week! by @johnnynails
