Let me introduce you to my brain child. Those of you who are close to me know it’s been a long time coming, but we are making some meaningful progress.
Especially in this heartbreaking, exploitative system we have been existing in, I urge you to use your agency and choice opting into structures that provide alternatives to the status quo.

Follow @joinsymera, waitlist link is in bio.
Questions and feedback welcome via comments and/or dm’s. ❤️

This is purely a PSA about how genuinely excited I am about what I’m building. This is a tool I know that many of us truly need and the more it comes together, the happier I get to be able to share it with you all soon.
The waitlist link is still open (in bio) if you want to sign up for beta testing. See you all there! 💕

On the importance of interdependence.
We’re not supposed to do it all by ourselves.
#symeraapp #creativecommunity #interdependence by @joinsymera

‘Creatives’ that we invite onto the platform aren’t necessarily defined by profession or title, but more so by practice. If you use your skills, knowledge or craft to create something artistic, cultural, or meaningful (even just for yourself), SYMERA is for you.
The most important aspect of who we’re taking to is the willingness to share and exchange that knowledge and not how many years or pay checks you’ve gathered with your craft so far. We’re all here to learn from each other.

Basically: don’t believe the hype. The impact of a collaborator’s value system, how they show up in communication, how clear they are with not just their vision but their expectation management is not to be underestimated.
What are the most important traits for you in a collaborator?
#symeraapp #creativecommunity #collaborators by @joinsymera

Community requires reciprocity and mutual understanding. It’s important we don’t confuse an audience for community because it will make us spectators instead of active participants.

Do you have these moments in your life that you can pinpoint where one new perspective, a new idea or someone’s input had a significant impact on your path? Where something just clicks and a new level unlocks? I know I have.
If you just thought of someone whose conversation with you made all the difference, tag them below and let them know.

Organized reciprocity. What does that really mean? It means being able to give and receive in a structured way. In a way that doesn’t just build connections for a theoretical leg up, but one that makes support tangible and practical from day one.

Join our beta testers, friend! And tag your people below.
The app runs on iOS only (for now) and we are looking for founding members who are ready to embrace the culture of organised reciprocity from the get go.
The first people on this app will massively shape its overall culture, so this is both an opportunity and a responsibility.
There will be special perks for founding members down the line in exchange for this initial investment into the ecosystem.
See you all soon!

I’m sure of lot of you can relate. I know a lot of my friends can, especially those of us who are singers.
And when I say ‘not enough’, it doesn’t necessarily mean the value you personally attach to the project.
It can mean not enough clear communication.
Not enough structure.
Not enough expectation management. Or shared vision. All of these aspects can erode a collaborative relationship and all of them are things we need to consider and talk about more in creative working environments.
Shoutout to @visveritas for giving me the opportunity to speak on some of these topics in a beautifully led conversation. Sharing more soon.

Who are the people that are gathered here already, wanting to participate? I’ve gathered a few example of what was shared so far and a few beautiful things crystallised:

1. There are already similarities in what some want to share and others want to receive. Even on a small scale, supporting each other in a targeted way is entirely possible.
2. Most people mentioned more things they wanted to share with others than what they currently need help with. We are absolutely willing to be of service to each other. Which of the offerings listed speak to you?
3. In this small group of people, we already have hubs in different cities over 3 continent. That is potent and there is so much to learn from each other that way.

To those who already filled out the waitlist link, thank you, deeply, for being day one supporters of this project.
