📍 DROM TABERNA

See you there! 💃🏾🕺🏾 by @jon_nvita

It’s summer and I’m outside listening to all my favourite artists in real time! 💃🏾 it’s been so refreshing listening to #AfroJazz in my city vs streaming online all the time

This show really blew me away! I missed @jon_nvita at @jazzfestivaltoronto so when I saw he had a show @jazzbistroto I knew exactly what I had to do 🙂‍↕️

Massive bonus for in the end because I actually got to meet Jonathan and ask him a little more about the music, himself and his journey preserving African music in all the way in Toronto and I can’t wait to share some of the gems he shared with me 💃🏾

I’m really excited to keep discovering other African artists in Toronto 🥹 it’s been such a light and it really helps me stay connected and most importantly, sane!

Thank you is an understatement for all You’ve done and continue to do for me, my God. 🙏🏾❤️

To every child in Congo, across Africa, and around the world: YOUR DREAMS ARE VALID. Go for it.

For the child who was despised, mistreated, called names, and grew up carrying invisible wounds, yet never stopped believing and smiling. Through it all, one thing kept him going: HOPE.

Stay tuned for my next immersive album and film, “MWANA” (A Child). 🎬🎶

I have a story to tell. A story of pain, resilience, faith, and hope.

Thank you, @folk_canada and @ontarioartscouncil, for honouring her memory. ❤️🙏🏾

This is just the beginning 😉🇨🇩

Thank you @ontarioartscouncil for helping keep my grandma’s voice alive.

As a Congolese songwriter/composer, I carry my roots, my people, and our stories into every note I write. I want to tell stories that cross borders, connect generations, remind us of the people and places that made us who we are.

Thank you @folk_canada for everything 🙌🏾❤️
