2006–07 Marc Johnson 'Viva Lakai' Tee . . I think the best way to describe Marc would be through the words of Louie Barletta, someone who skated with him and knew him very well: "He was just a poor kid from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, who grew up in a trailer at the end of a dirt road. Yet he made it out, traveled the world and touched so many lives. He will live on through the video parts that nobody can recreate.....Without a shadow of a doubt, Marc Johnson was the single most influential person in my life. Everything he did was art." β€” Louie Barletta, Thrasher Mag 2026 . . . . I still remember watching Fully Flared with my brother. I was 13 at the time, and I'd rewatch Marc's part to get hyped to skate. I'd go to my local (Lake Vista) and try one of the manny lines he did over and over until my legs would give out. To this day, those are some of the most fun sessions I've ever had. After rewatching some of his parts while putting together this post, I've realized they still have the same effect on me. They get me so hyped and genuinely remind me how much fun skating is. It's extremely hard to find anything with just Marc on it, so I'm hyped to add this one to my showroom. πŸ™ RIP Marc Johnson πŸ™πŸ•ŠοΈ Jan. 6, 1977 – May 26, 2026 . . . . . . . . #skate #vintage #90s #lakai #marcjohnson by @jon_walrus
Skatepark of Tampa πŸŒ΄πŸ›ΉπŸŠ . . . I will be at @spottampa this Sunday, 6/21, for Go Skate Day with my entire Skate collection πŸ™ . . . . It is hard to explain how important this place is if you did not grow up skating in Florida. Before SPoT, Florida was not really known for skateboarding. Then a warehouse with a vert ramp opened in 1993 and Tampa, FL slowly became one of the most important places in skateboarding. Tampa Am and Tampa Pro helped put Florida on the map, and for a lot of us, SPoT videos, contests, concerts, and the park itself were a huge part of growing up. Generations of Florida skaters dreamed about skating Tampa Am one day. I know I did. Over 30 years later, SPoT is still here while hundreds of skate shops and parks have come and gone. Still going strong 🐐 Thank you, SPoT. ❀️ . . . Come say whats up this weekend πŸ™ . . . . . . . . #skate #vintage #skateboard #Tampa #90s by @jon_walrus
My ANDREW REYNOLDS Collection πŸ‘πŸ›Ή . . . . . . . . . I remember when I was 6 or 7 and got my hands on my first Birdhouse tape β€” The End (1998). I had it on VHS and probably watched it over 200x. . One part that always stood out to me was @andrewreynolds That intro where he’s drinking with the monkey was so funny to me as a kid. That was the first time I had ever heard of him, and he quickly became my favorite skater. . . I could say a lot about Reynolds, but I’ll keep it to one video β€” Emerica: Stay Gold (2010). One of my all-time favorite skate videos. . . . Reynolds’ part in that cemented him as my favorite. Putting together something that insane at 30 years old is a testament to how much of a warrior he is. It also showed me how far you can go if you take care of your body and your mind. Reynolds is still putting out crazy parts 15+ years later β€” he’s a legend in my book. Also he's originally from Florida, I had to mention that. . . . . . This collection means a lot to me. I’m hyped to share it! Please like, lmk what you think, and share πŸ‘πŸ«ΆπŸ›Ή . . . . . . . . #andrewreynolds #bakerskateboards #birdhouseskateboards #skate #vintage by @jon_walrus
