Iโ€™ve tried to explain this several times: when authenticating a vintage T-shirt, you need to examine three key areas: 1. Tag 2. Stitching 3. The printing Hereโ€™s a good example: a genuine Delta tag can be removed from an authentic shirt and sewn onto a counterfeit shirt by someone with good skills. If the replacement is done carefully enough, it can look very convincing. This is why many people are fooled when they only look at the tag and completely overlook the printing and stitching. Thereโ€™s one important thing the person who made the counterfeit forgot, though: the specifications of the shirt donโ€™t match the tag at all. For example, the stitching around the neckline and the tag area does not match the specifications and construction typically associated with a genuine Delta-tagged shirt. So please donโ€™t authenticate a shirt based on the tag alone. Always look at the tag, stitching, and printing together. A genuine tag does not automatically make the entire shirt authentic. I hope this information helps you avoid people who try to take advantage of others in the vintage market. Most importantly, enjoy buying and selling vintage fashion! Realโœ… vs Fake๐Ÿคฎ #screenstarsbest Iโ€™ve been coming across these kinds of fake tags quite often over the past two or three months, though theyโ€™ve actually been making them for a long time. Distinguishing them isnโ€˜t all that difficult. 1.BAUMWOLLE / ALGODONโœ… Ensure appropriate spacing between the words. BAUMWOLLE/ALGODONโŒ 2.Note that the blue area behind the word โ€SCREENโ€œ must be small, not large. 3.The surface texture should not be glossy or slippery; if it is, there is a very high chance it is a fake. ๐Ÿ“ฎFREE CHECK FOR FOLLOWERS ONLY๐Ÿ“ฎ Credit : @jonas.secondhand_ ๐Ÿ•ต๐Ÿป by @jonas.secondhand_
Realโœ… vs Fake๐Ÿคฎ #polygram This is one of those tags that is extremely difficult to distinguish between authentic and fake, as the replicas are exceptionally well made even the graphic printing looks completely genuine. However, if you have a detailed photo or the shirt itself in hand, verifying it isnโ€™t difficult. Letโ€˜s take a look. 1. Red line: If you look closely, you will notice that the serrations on the counterfeit line are more closely spaced and lack definition, whereas the genuine red line features serrations that are more widely spaced and sharply defined. 2. Observe the area indicating the size; there is a significant amount of space below the โ€XLโ€œ text. 3. There must be a sufficient gap after โ€U.S.A.โ€œ; the spacing should not be too tight. 4.The texture of the tag should appear thick and not perfectly smooth. When touching an authentic one, you can sense the sturdy quality of the stitching details and the thickness of the material unlike the smooth, uniform feel of a counterfeit. However, this is merely one point to check; for some items, you can immediately distinguish between genuine and fake simply by looking at the tag. Yet, for many other pieces, you also need to examine the stitching and the graphic printing to determine with 100% certainty whether the item is authentic or counterfeit. Realโœ… vs Fake๐Ÿคฎ #giant It is rare to come across a counterfeit of the type shown in the photo, but spotting the tell-tale signs isnโ€™t difficult letโ€˜s learn how. 1.Observe the stitching at the back of the neck. While this type of stitching is commonly found on authentic items, a closer look reveals details that appear noticeably irregular compared to the genuine article; spotting this requires some experience. 2. Look at the letter โ€™gโ€˜; its tail should not curve in the style shown on this sign. This is an easy detail to spot and can be a decisive factor. 3. Observe the font on the tag; the size and thickness will be noticeably distorted. Fakes appear thin rather than substantial. Use these three elements to determine authenticity, and importantly examine the quality of the graphic printing. Cr. @jonas.secondhand_ ๐Ÿ•ต๐Ÿป by @jonas.secondhand_
Realโœ… vs Fake๐Ÿคฎ #stedman Itโ€™s been a while, but I have an update to share. Here is a counterfeit tag I recently came across online; it isnโ€˜t widely known yet, so I encourage everyone to learn about it from this post. 1.The first thing to look at is the stitching of the seams. 2.A second point to observe is the letter โ€™Sโ€˜ within the blue and red areas; there must be an appropriate amount of open space. 3.This third point is the easiest: notice that the letter โ€™tโ€˜ does not have a long tail extending from it. Whenever you inspect an item, try to examine all its elements in detailโ€”rather than focusing on just one specific pointโ€”in order to accurately distinguish between the genuine article and a fake. Realโœ… vs Fake๐Ÿคฎ #hanes Counterfeit products are about to spread. Please do your research before becoming a victim. First, look at the neck support cushion on the shirt. Most authentic ones will look like the picture on the left. The second point, this oneโ€™s a bit difficult, observe the letter R in the circle. There must be some space left over; it shouldnโ€˜t be too narrow or too large, it should fit perfectly within the circle. This third point is the easiest. Realโœ… vs Fake๐Ÿคฎ #3demblem Itโ€™s a fake product thatโ€˜s been around for a long time, and many people have fallen victim to it. Look at the wolfโ€™s face; it looks hilarious. It doesnโ€˜t look like the real thing at all. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Cr. @jonas.secondhand_ ๐Ÿ•ต๐Ÿป by @jonas.secondhand_
Realโœ… vs Fake๐Ÿคฎ #3demblem This is a long-standing counterfeit. If you donโ€™t pay close attention, you might not be able to tell the difference between the real and the fake. Many collectors might even have them in their collections. Go grab one and take a look; Iโ€˜ll tell you a simple trick to spot the real one. In the first image, observe the graphic on the pit bullโ€™s tongue. The tongue should be located between the gaps in the middle teeth; thatโ€˜s the authentic. Scroll to image number 2. This one is very easy. It needs to have the signature graphic of an artist whose name is Steve McDonald. Image 3 is very difficult because the counterfeits are very skillfully made to look authentic. However, if you look closely at the letter C, its size appears unusually small compared to the genuine one. Pay attention to the small details. Nothing is too difficult if you set your mind to it. #harley #harleydavidson #vintagetshirt #vintagetee Cr. @jonas.secondhand_ ๐Ÿ•ต๐Ÿป โค๏ธFOLLOW ME LIKE AND SHARE FOR FREE CHECKโค๏ธ by @jonas.secondhand_
Realโœ… vs Fake๐Ÿคฎ #3demblem This is the worst news for 3Demblem collectors. I found some fakes on the internet, and they look so real that even some analysts have been fooled. Iโ€™ve already explained how to spot fakes; look at the red arrows. For an easier way to check, scroll to image 2 and observe the signature of the graphic designer; the genuine product will say J.B. (Bobby Gโ€˜s). In the future, I believe counterfeits will definitely appear on other graphic designs, and theyโ€™ll be very convincing. Therefore, you should always study and observe the details on the clothing to avoid becoming a victim. #harleydavidson #harley #vintagetshirt #vintagetee Cr. @jonas.secondhand_ ๐Ÿ•ต๐Ÿป โค๏ธFOLLOW ME LIKE AND SHARE FOR FREE CHECKโค๏ธ by @jonas.secondhand_
