We’re building the next generation of jet engines here in the UK thanks to our exciting new partnership with Rolls-Royce.

Underpinned by our Industrial Strategy, the agreement will support jobs and local growth - and the tech will power the very same planes that take you on your travels around the world.

Big news for Britain's aerospace industry.

We're partnering with Rolls-Royce to help develop the next generation of jet engine technology right here in the UK.

The long-term partnership will support 3,300 jobs by 2029 and could help create tens of thousands more in the decades ahead.

More good news for Tameside. 👏

Following yesterday’s Budget, Tameside has been awarded £2.27 million from the Government’s new Derelict Buildings Fund to help bring empty and neglected buildings back into use for local communities.

This investment is part of our new High Streets Strategy, backing town centres, supporting local businesses and giving communities a stronger voice over how their local areas develop.

Whether it’s bringing vacant buildings back to life, supporting shops, cafés and pubs, or helping communities take ownership of valued local assets, this is about restoring pride in our town centres and creating places people want to spend time in.

I’m looking forward to working with Tameside Council and local partners to make sure this funding delivers real benefits for residents across the borough.

Great to visit West Hill School recently and take part in a Be Internet Citizens session delivered by YouTube and Parent Zone .

With so much information online, helping young people develop the skills to spot misinformation, think critically and question what they see and share has never been more important.

I was impressed by the thoughtfulness and maturity of the students throughout the session. They asked excellent questions and engaged brilliantly in discussions about how information spreads online and the responsibilities that come with being a digital citizen.

Digital literacy is becoming an increasingly important life skill, and programmes like this help equip young people with the confidence to navigate the online world safely and responsibly.

My thanks to everyone at West Hill School for the warm welcome, and to YouTube and Parent Zone for organising such a worthwhile initiative. Most of all, thank you to the students for making it such an enjoyable visit. 💻📱🎓

100 days since the UK-India trade deal came into effect and we’re already seeing its impact.

Met with Emma Toone, Chief Executive of the Greater Manchester School Games, last Friday to discuss how we can give more young people the opportunity to get involved in sport.

We talked about the great work being done through School Sports Partnerships and the Government's investment in PE and school sport to help ensure every child can benefit from high-quality sporting opportunities.

Thanks to Emma for taking the time to meet. Looking forward to continuing the conversation.

Ever wondered what a Secretary of State gets up to? by @jonathanreynoldsmp

Same location. 16 months apart. And a huge amount achieved through our Industrial Strategy so far.

In the past three months alone, we've seen £6.5bn of investment committed into our key sectors, and £6bn of exports generated by them.

Last week, the Business Secretary returned to the town where we kicked it all off. Following a morning at the West Midlands Growth Summit, he got behind the wheel of Longbow Motors' Speedster. A brilliant example of British innovation, and just one glimpse of the growth, jobs and ambition our Industrial Strategy is helping to unlock. by @jonathanreynoldsmp
