Three days before my birthday, I had my PET CT scan. The following day, we received the results. We already knew from my CT scan and MRI that something was still wrong. But we were holding on to hope...hoping for a different result, hoping for a miracle, hoping that perhaps this PET SCan would show nothing. I was hoping that, somehow, I would receive the best birthday gift I could ever ask for. But the moment I opened the document, I knew it wasn't good. I cried almost nonstop until the day after. And last night, a day before my birthday, our oncologist confirmed what I had feared, tumor at segment 7, and a new one at segment 8. I've tried to hold back my tears. I've tried to remain calm, hopeful, and positive. But honestly, my heart is shattered. This healing journey has changed the way I look at birthdays. Before, birthdays were simply a celebration of another year of life. Now, they feel much deeper. Every birthday is a reminder of how far I've come, of the battles I've survived, of the days I wasn't sure I would see, and of the gift of being given another year. So despite the heartbreak, the uncertainty, and the tears, today, I choose to be GRATEFUL. Grateful for another year. Grateful for the people who continue to stand beside me. Grateful for every prayer, every message, every hug, every act of kindness, and every reason to keep going. Above all, I am holding tightly to my faith. God has carried me through every difficult valley up to this point, and I trust that He is not done with my story yet. Even when the road ahead feels terrifying and unfair, my hope remains anchored in Him, knowing He holds my future, my healing, and my days in His hands. I may not have received the birthday gift I was praying for this year, but I am still here. And today, that is something I will continue to celebrate. Thank you to everyone who remembered me, prayed for me, sent their love, and greeted me today. Your messages mean more to me than you know. Thank you for making this day, truly a special one. I may not be able to respond to everyone just yet, but please know that I have read and felt your love. I will get back to you all. Love to you all. πŸ₯ΊπŸŒ» by @joooyski
Documenting my #Immunotherapy journey. Session 1 done last September 30. Yay! On to the next. ✨️ Fighting, Juyjuy! Candid photo yan. Na para bang hindi ako kabado at wala lang. I can't thank you enough. πŸ₯Ή Mej disappointed. Too expensive. Do you see that chicken? That's 480 pesos without rice. Ahuhu. Pero, masarap... But, hindi nako uulit jan. Ladies and gentlemen, that's my husband. Via Mare's puto bumbong saved the day. Ate it before my infusion. St. Lukes, BGC naman. Kabado na ako jan. Yesssss to @kodawari.ph as my comfort food. #Bekenemen Kaya pa, Juyjuy? πŸ‘§ Work mode. Didn't post the photo of me working dahil mapapagalitan ako ng iba kong friends. Keeping it as a proof nalang for my application to become a bayani ng La Salle. Char not char. πŸ€πŸ˜† No more IV. I can move freely.πŸ’š Manawa kayo sa selfie. Nakakaganda pala sa BGC. 🀣 Last photo I took before heading home. Thank you, Lord. by @joooyski
Last September 7, I marked my 15th year as a Lasallian employee. When I look back, I realize how much of my life has been shaped by this institution. It started with the gift of a free education as a scholar, which opened doors and gave me opportunities I could only dream of. But beyond the education and the degree, I am most grateful for the experiences, the people, challenges, and lessons that came with being a Lasallian. La Salle taught me that work is not simply about fulfilling what is written in a job description. It is about being willing to go beyond when needed, stepping up, and serving even when it is not part of the assignment. Over the years, I have been blessed with opportunities to organize events, lead committees, work with different offices, coordinate projects, represent the University, host programs, and take on responsibilities that pushed me beyond my comfort zone. Some days, I was behind the scenes making things happen. Other days, I was in front of the crowd holding the microphone. And many times, I simply had to roll up my sleeves and help wherever I was needed. Each role taught me something different. I learned how to lead and listen, make decisions and ask for help, handle pressure, and work with different kinds of people. Most importantly, I learned that service is not about the position you hold, it is about the heart you bring into what you do. Twenty-four years later, I realize that I did not just spend my younger years in La Salle. La Salle became part of who I am. From the scholar who was simply grateful for the opportunity to study, to the employee blessed to serve the institution for 15 years, this journey has been long, meaningful, challenging, and incredibly humbling. I am grateful for the mentors who believed in me, the people who challenged me to become better, and the countless students and athletes who continue to remind me why the work we do matters. Here’s to the institution that has been part of more than half of my life, and to continuing to live out the values of Faith, Service, and Communion in whatever way I can. Still grateful to be home. Animo La Salle! πŸ’šπŸŒ» by @joooyski
#LatePost September 2026 | Baguio Part 1 The weekend before my scheduled first session of immunotherapy, I asked my oncologist for permission to travel to Baguio. At the time, I was feeling incredibly anxious and emotionally exhausted, and I desperately needed a change of scenery. Yung literal na nasusuka na ako, just thinking about another weekend in the hospital for lab works. It started as a random, spontaneous thought, but looking back, we are all so grateful that we pushed through and made it happen. ✨️ by @joooyski
#LatePost September 2026 | Part 4 This was originally scheduled for August, but Mother Nature had other plans! It got moved to September, but the wait was worth it. Nice one our SONshine! We are so incredibly grateful for Zach’s singing talent. I’m 100% sure the confidence came from me. The voice? Aba, tinatanong pa ba yan? Ano pa at naging #AnneC ang nanay, diva? πŸ₯± by @joooyski
#LatePost September 2026 Highlights Part 2 Honestly, growing older used to feel like just another date on the calendar. I used to care about the usual stuff, but after everything my body has been through with cancer, hitting this birthday hits so much different. It’s hard to put into words what it feels like to blow out these candles. I’m just deeply, incredibly grateful to be here, to be breathing, and to get another year. This year, I don’t care about gifts or getting older. I’m just looking around at the people I love and feeling so lucky that I get more tiime. Every extra year is a massive win. ✨️ PS: Thank you once again to everyone who made me feel extra special. You're all gonna live in me forever 🌻 by @joooyski
#LatePost September 2026 | Part 1 My only UAAP attendance so far... getting used to cheering behind the scenes. It hits different when you aren't just watching the game, but watching everything that makes the game possible. No banners or bright lights, no loud noise, just the quiet grind to make sure our athletes can shine out there. The view from the background is honestly the best seat in the house. Animo, always! πŸ’šβœ¨οΈ by @joooyski

Documenting session #2 | October 21 On to the next one before another Pet CT Scan. Can you help me pray for better results? πŸ₯ΊπŸ«° Light and love to you all. 🌻 by @joooyski
January 2026 Dump We’ve been spending most of our weekends at the hospital since July 2023. Then, one day, we decided to take a little break from our usual routine. We packed our bags, hopped on a bus, and headed to Baguio. Walang plano, plano, just a spontaneous trip and a much-needed change of scenery. A random trip that turned into memories worth keeping. And, Zach said, Baguio is now one of his favorites. Meow. 🫠 by @joooyski
Early morning musings 🌿 I saw Kris Aquino’s post earlier, and one thing that stuck with me was about choosing your battles and not giving oxygen to people who don’t deserve it. I’ve been learning to do that, too. I used to think I could help or save everyone. I thought that if I cared enough, understood enough, or gave enough of myself, I could somehow make things better for everyone around me. But life has taught me that not every battle is mine to fight, not every person is mine to save, and not every situation deserves a piece of my peace. Kakapagod pala. Okay din pala minsan ang walang pake. Not because you’ve become cold or heartless, but because you’ve finally realized that you can’t keep pouring into people who wouldn’t even notice when your cup is empty. Minsan, mas masakit pa, the people you thought would protect you are the same people who end up causing you stress. And those you somehow expected to be there for you are the very people whose presence you can’t even feel when you need them the most. It’s a painful realization, but a necessary one. You can care about people without carrying their burdens, and you can love people without sacrificing your peace for them. These days, I’m learning that choosing yourself isn’t selfish. Walking away doesn’t always mean you’ve given up, and staying silent doesn’t always mean you have nothing to say. Sometimes, it simply means you’ve learned that your peace is worth more than proving a point to people who may never understand you anyway. So, little by little, I’m learning to choose my battles, protect my energy, and stop feeling responsible for everyone else’s happiness. Because not every situation needs my reaction. Not every person deserves my explanation. And not everyone who has access to me deserves my energy. At the end of the day, I can still have a good heart without making myself available for everyone. I can still care without overextending myself. And I can choose peace, even if that means disappointing people who have grown accustomed to having so much of me. Maybe that’s part of growing up, too. Learning when to care, when to let go, and when to simply say, "himdi ko na problema yan". 🌻 by @joooyski
