Afgahn women have no rights. I did some research about how that happened and heres what I found:

During the Cold War the US funded the Mujahideen, which later form the Taliban, to fight the Sowjet Union (1979-1989). After the Cold War ended the U.S withdrew from Afgahnistan and left billions of dollars worth of military equipment in the hands of the Mujahideen. The Mujahideen split up into different tribal groups, one of them being the Taliban. The groups started fighting each other and the Afgahn conflict/civil war began. The civil war led to a greater destabelisation of Afghan government and a damedged infrastructure. With the weapons given to the Taliban by the U.S, the Taliban was able to win the civil war and took over Afgahnistan (1996). Later the U.S took away the Talibans power in „The War of terror“ (2001-2021). The United States invaded Afghanistan as a response to 9/11. When the U.S withdrew from Afghanistan (2021), the Taliban managed to regain power and enforced laws that strip the Afghan woman of her humanity.

They cant go out in public without a man.
They are not allowed to speak in public.
They are being forced to cover every inch of their body in public.
They cant visit a schools past primary level.
Child marriage has become a norm.
Violent acts against women and girls has become a norm.

It‘s sad because Afghanistan was such a progressiv country before the Cold War started, with Afghan women gaining their voting rights in 1919.

Whats also irritating is the way the western world seems to be silent about this. If this would happen somewhere in europe, the whole world would know and talk about it.
